Was talking with a couple of pediatricians the other day and they don't think a lot of people will get the shot this year. I think people will.

Even though it wasn't horribly effective last season it's still better than nothing

@Stealth83: I think people will, especially older people who get the flu and pneumonia vaccine. I will continue to get mine! I only started getting them about four years ago after having a terrible bout with the flu. I don't ever want to feel that awful again!

I have to talk with my OB to see what they recommend. I usually have a very bad reaction to the flu shot, so I'm not sure which route they are gonna think is less risky for the baby. 4951

Absolutely. Some years I forget- but not from now on. The reason? That virus I got back in June knocked my butt flat. I swore I had the flu- but flu and strep tests came back negative. The virus led to a secondary sinus infection- 5 weeks and 2 rounds of antibiotics later I am finally getting back to my old self!!! 4951

I've had one flu shot in my life. Just don't need it. Very healthy, never get sick, and am not convinced, at all, that these shots are effective. 4951

No, I've never gotten the shot and I rarely get the flu. I'm all for immunizations, but I am not convinced the flu shot is effective. 4951

I got a confirmed case of the flu while traveling one year, so even though the shot is hit or miss on effectiveness it doesn't cost me anything, and I don't want to be that sick again. Fever and body aches for five days. It sucked and my kids got it from me. Nothing like three zombies in one hotel room. 4951
