It's not going to be a "livable forest" with all the "growth".  4951

i am fine with growth, but they need to stick with aesthetics.  like the new HEB center, i hope they keep a lot of the trees along kwdr and wlhp.  they can clear out the underbrush, but please keep the trees.  the woodlands does it, i don't see why we have such a hard time with it.  most of the shopping centers in the woodlands are "hidden".  it's much easier on the eye and keeps the earth happy too. I really hate how these new neighborhoods (like Kings Mill and the new one opening up on Mills Branch) just raze every tree in sight, build as many houses as they can fit into the area, then give each house one stock tree placed in the exact same spot in each tiny little front yard. The houses themselves are beautiful, but couldn't they leave a few assorted trees up when planning? 4951

I totally agree with you! if I wanted to live in a field, I would have bought a house in Katy and not in Kingwood. 4951

I love seeing new buildings going up, new housing developments, big cranes and heavy equipment in place for major, commercial construction.Just not in Kingwood.Sorry, but we moved here from a city of 3 million -- an anonymous lifestyle, no one knew anybody. We love Kingwood because after just a year and a half, we're starting to run into people we know, at HEB, restaurants, etc. I don't want Kingwood to ever change. 4951

And to accommodate everyone, we are having to widen the roads. Yay more traffic! Can't wait for construction!   4951

@lrfranky: Growth in the 'wood is unavoidable at times.  Sometimes it happens quickly, sometimes it takes longer.  Just part of life, I guess.

I just don't understand why they don't listen to the residents/homeowners!!! We all moved/purchased a home here prior for a reason, the woods and nature of course.

Kingwood to me is like (Pleasantvillle) it's own little community made up with different neighbourhoods, and not a big subdivision. 4951

New subdivisions are anti kingwood.....we just moved here last summer and to be honest I wouldn't be caught dead living in Kingsmill or any new subdivision ....the whole reason why you move to kingwood is for the forest and trees. If we have any say so in new subdivisions we should vote against them......only outside of kingwood 4951

The new development on Mills branch. I'll take growth, especially when it puts money in my pocket.
