>> Looks like it will just be two of us today since the boy has plans with friends. A little empty nest preview. Considering going out instead of cooking out as planned. I love it...no mess and no clean up.
@donnatella:
We are having an empty nest preview too. We're having hot dogs with all the works - something easy and something we don't eat often.
@goldie: That's a good idea. James Coney Island. Haven't been there in ages.
@donnatella:
Funny you say been a while. Where I grew up one family had the coney island dog corner. Well as most family business when the old man flipped his last dog the brothers went bonkers.
They split one the original place, his bro on main street.
Everyone still went to the original one. I don't know what ever happened as it's been 20 plus years.
I have a sinful bucket list that I have just in case I find myself ever passing that way again.
I did try to order some trays of red and white pizzas from back home.. you can do that through The Taste of Chicago. Have in 24 hours. Four Lou Malonatti deep dish for $75 bucks s/h included.
Well by the time the guy scaled it with the dry ice it was more like $125/ 3 trays.
So before I kick the last tire I'll be biting into a whole damn tray. There are 5 pizza joints I'll have a tray at each one. By myself.
As for your dog. You go, what's more American than hot dogs on the 4th of July.
