He does like to go on rides and hang his head out but its so hot that if I have to get down somewhere I dont bring him . I dont know if its seperation anxiety or what but he is nuckin futz. Here he is master of the house with our grandog koko ...they dont play nice kokonut is just too rough and H just has beef with everyone.

I'm loving the look on the black dog's face - like, "You're seriously leaving me here with that nutcase?!" 4951

No not at all . He will see me put shoes on and grab keys and off he goes barking his head off . We scold him and put him in his bed but as soon as we turn around he will get back to running in circles and barking . 4951

Get him a real tasty bone and give it to him before you leave. Then he will not care less if you are coming or going. 4951

I close my puppy in the master bathroom with his kennel for napping if he wants to, food & water,  and a few toys.  He doesn't get upset or see me leave the house. He just accepts this.  You could try putting your dog in the bathroom for short periods with treats involved so he doesn't think it's a negative experience.  Then when you do leave the house, he won't even know.  He will just think you are a weirdo who shuts him in the bathroom sometimes. If that doesn't work, call Caesar Milan.  Emoticon 4951

One of mine goes bonkers when I leave and will cry the whole time I'm gone unless she is in her crate. If I crate her before I leave, or the boys put her in there she is fine. The crate is her safe place. She will often go in there to nap even when we are all home. Crate training should solve the problem. Is someone there after you leave to see how she acts a few minutes after you're gone? Maybe she stops acting crazy after a minute or so. 4951

@topcat:
For the most part when we are gone he is in his crate but when we are home he is free. We leave him out if we are just gone for a bit but even then like at night when its time to shut it down he will go to his crate but when we shut the door he goes berserk and barks and jumps at door so we dont close it . Major spazz...maybe its just his dna ...

@staylifted: Try the crate everytime you leave then. I tried to leave my nutso dog out if sometimes when everyone else is home and she howls and cries unless she is with me or crated. Sounds like your pup is very attached to you like mine is.

My dog has been acting like that too since our other dog died in Jan. He's always been a little possessive of me but now he cries when I leave even if the kids are home. I put him in his crate when I leave and that seems to help. He also refuses to walk unless I'm the one holding his leash and will only sit next to me on the couch. If someone tries to pick him up he yelps like he's getting beaten. My kids call him a spoiled brat. I tell them he misses his dog. They still think I'm the nutso, though. 4951

@Maisey1:
He is so bad sometimes he will growl at dw if she gets near me and if she gives me a kiss oh boy she better watch out he will darn near attack her . But she picks and teases him alot so I know why he is like that with her . When company comes over he has to go to his crate cuz he's a spazz.

@stayliftedAwwww, Dude...  I don't who has more separation anxiety here, me for Gunny, or Gunny for me.... (Straight TRUTH!)        Have you tried leaving Harley one of your t-shirts, or even a pair of your socks out, so that he has something that smells of you "for security" whenever he's home alone....  Or perhaps give him a chew toy whenever you're headin' out so that he can focus his anxiety on that whenever you two are separated....   Poor Harley...  He just loves and misses his papa....  Awwww, Dude!
