To answer your question from the other thread, yes they were special brownies. What about rum balls? Or those chocolates filled with liqueur? 4951

@GoldenGirl:

Depends on the cruise line. After July 1 it will be much more difficult to "smuggle" on Carnival. Others are a little easier. 4951

@GoldenGirl: In the past i have taken sealed bottles of booze in my checked luggage.  The next time round, because the cruise line got snotty with the booze bottles, we filled up clear rum, gin and vodka in other containers - water bottles, mouth wash etc.  Now Carnival has announced that they will restrict even these containers.  See the link below. HINT:  If you manage to smuggle some booze on board, remember that the cabin steward is NOT your friend.  They get bonus points for ratting on passengers who smuggle in booze.  So hide it well.... and consume it with discretion.  They look for tell-tale signs like used glasses, left over beer nuts and finger food etc.  So even you you tip them generously, their loyalty remains with their employerhttp://www.cruisereviews.com/forum/carnival-cruise-line/13939-new-liquid-restrictions.html#b

When we went on a Carnival cruise we were allowed to bring a couple bottles of wine. We brought one wine bottle along with several water bottles filled with clear alcohol. At check in we were sent to the alcohol checking tables and instead of turning over my entire bag of alcohol I just handed over my one visible wine bottle. They logged that in and we were good to go. They never even asked to look in my bag. 4951

In the near future, water will not be allowed for carry on due to the alcohol smuggling. Soon. you gotta buy alcohol and bottled water on board. 4951

I think I am going to buy some of the small airline size bottles and put them throughout our checked luggage, if they find a couple of out the several I won't be out much money.... 4951

You can get pretty creative with the rum runners- my favorite is to put them in a big sports bra. I go into concerts at the woodlands pavilion as a large busted woman and leave drunk and my usual size. Emoticon

You could also tape them to your stomach or butt- I've never done that. At music festivals I usually put them in the lining of a backpack.

I've never been on a cruise. Not my thing. 4951
