We are just about to have it done by Aloha Pools out of Spring. Does anyone know how long it might take the 30,000 gallons of water to heat up from the refill temp of 55 degrees to a comfortable swimming temp? 4951

I have no advice. I just wanted to know if I'm the only one who thought "or are you just happy to see me" after reading the title of this thread. 4951

My parent's just had theirs done & it's nothing short of stellar work. If anyone is in the market, here is the general contractor that everyone we know uses for pretty much everything, from big jobs to small fixes. His name is Ruben, he can do any & everything, his quality is top notch, & his prices can't be beat. 832-388-0106 4951

@heathur: When was your parents' pool refilled? Just wondering if their water is warming back up in any kind of a rapid manner with the hot weather recently.  4951

We just did ours, once it stopped raining it wamed up pretty quickly. It really depends on all sorts of variables, including how much sun you get, how dark the finish is, and the overall depth.
We picked up about 10 degrees in a week once it got sunny. 4951

@ET: Oh wow, so it could take 3 weeks for it to get warm enough to swim. Sighhh. Thanks for the info @ET. Who did yours?

Adams Tile and Plaster.
I don't think ours started out anywhere near that cold, but I didn't really keep track of it. 4951

Ours was still rather chilly (for an old guy) during the rain, but now, just a week later, it is warm. But I was most likely in the mid 70's during the rain, not 55.And ours gets direct sun about 5-6 hours a day.Ours is 30,000 gllons 4951

@GoldenGirl: I've been so busy, it's crazy. Looking forward to the next auction on June 19th, as long as no wrenches get into the works on that night!  It's always so relaxing at the auction and it aggravates me when I can't get there!

@FoFa: Well a week doesn't sound so bad! I was thinking that the water that comes out of the water hose started out at 55 degrees. Your pool sounds like ours in size and sun time... I'm hoping it's just a week!

Would you all mind giving me an idea of how much this set you all back? We're going to have to have our done over the Winter sometime. Sigh. I believe our pool is around 20,000 gallons - I'd have to go back and look at our water bills from last Fall, when we drained (due to pipe leaks and then a subsequent patch job we decided to do).  4951
