Skin so soft. You can spray off on them. But skin so soft won't hurt them 4951

They also have a hydracortizone spray that helps. Or look for stuff called hot spots. 4951

He can't lick his ears....use liquid Benadryl.  I just got done researching what to use on dogs to repel the skeeters.  Skin so Soft was questionable for effectiveness.  Nothing with DEET.  K9 Advantix has a new product that repels mosquitoes as well as ticks and fleas.  But I don't like that stuff.  Was reading about a concoction made of essentials oils and some other things.If anyone has a solution for doggie skeeter repellent that works, please share!  We can't even go on walks and stop to potty without being swarmed. 4951

@sh56:
I use skin so soft on mine and they don't get bit. Then again, they really only go outside to use the restroom so they have minimum exposure.
I second the benadryl. I just put some benadryl cream on my legs. This is the worst year EVER for those nasty skeeters!

Thank you everyone.
I just gave him his Heartguard and he can't take flea stuff for 7 days or I'll be shampooing rugs. He just had apoquil. I don't have all those things in my house. Do you think I could give him a benadryl tablet?
I don't need Doc MacCaan mad at me.

I'm literally in the forest with a watery grave in my backyard. The last tenant dug a grave size hole and then the wet got the dozer stuck. That made it bigger. Said she wanted a fire pit. Lol

My husband went to the W place and picked up table torches and I'm soaking wicks now. Those will be burning 24 hours a day. He said he's gonna get big torches too to stick out further from the porch.
Said it was the busiest aisle in the store. Everybody was grabbing what they could saying how bad it is.
A young couple grabbed him and said what's that? My neighbors bought these glass table top refillable ones. He called and asked about coils. Can I burn those in the yard? There low and maybe they won't take flight.

He brought Chinese food home. My hands were covered in rib sauce and he yelled skeeter on your forehead. I don't have to tell ya how that played out. 4951

skeeters aren't the big issue for dogs ears.. its biting flies, gnats too.   Skeeters wont leave sores unless they can scratch them.   Also might check him for mites in his ears... now tea tree oil and olive oil in his ears will help.. tea tree  on the ears will burn its sores if he has any.  I would just keep benadryl in him, how big weight is he 4951

olive oil is a natural antibiotic and will also  smother the mites killing them... the tea tree will help also heal with its antibiotic ways. 4951

@angiekaye:
He's bit I checked. He was outside today. I can't keep him locked in. He doesn't like the grass much. He was tied out for 6 years and at the rescue for almost a year. He likes to lay on the porch in the sun, likes his day bed which is one side of pit furniture. Just the cushion. And loves my queen size bed.

When he came to us he had a bad ear Infection and it bled. It took us 9 months and several medicines to clear it. He thought every time I got near I was gonna mess with them. Now I can wash them once or twice and it's no big deal. He's used to me washing his face to unstick the drool.

We were walking six miles but we are not going out there unless necessary.

@mutton: sorry Emoticon  grew up on a farm and have had animals all my life and livestock.  We always home treated most of our animals.  I could tell ya how to worm a horse but you might throw up a little ... LOL  I try home remedies for the most part with my animals.  Vets are so expensive and dogs can be treated with almost anything humans can take.  Cats and ferrets are the ones I take in more often.   Like has anyone heard of this one?  3 of our cats have lymphocytic/plasmccytic gingivitis stomatitis?   its a major infection in their mouths makes to where they wont eat... my female has a huge boil that we are trying to treat with the vet.  I need to get second opinions on them though, my vet wants to only give shots and we have have the outside cat on oral meds and he is doing better than my cats on the shots.
