I've officially been in TX a year, here are some observations.Kingwood is much prettier than I expected it to be. Although, Houston in general I don't find all that attractive.Seems like there's a big Louisiana (NOLA?) influence on this area. It really is as hot/humid as I thought it would be.Winter was much colder than I thought it would be, but that might be poor insulation affecting my opinion. It can really rain here, I'm continually impressed.Texans really do love their guns and BBQ as the stereotype goes. I'm not a gun person, but I don't care if others have them. Do like the BBQ.I don't really hear that many Texas accents.Texas ladies are more down to earth than the stereotype of all hair and make-up.Houston is the most diverse place I've ever lived, I like that.Houstonians overall seem super friendly, good customer service.Texas has some really bad drivers, but in Kingwood, you all keep your cars really clean.
@MarT: I have been here ten years and these are my comments about your observations:
I agree about the attractiveness of Kingwood and Houston's lack thereof. Although that might change if they go ahead with cutting the trees on Kingwood dr. There is an LA influence here. It is f$:$)::&ng hot and humid here. Yuck! This winter was particularly cold and this spring particularly wet. It's not always like that. This is the second time in my 10 years that it rains so much. I have the same view about guns. I don't have one but believe people should have the right to own them. I like Texas ladies in general, except when they go out in pajamas and barefoot. Houston is very diverse but not Kingwood, which I don't like.
Overall I like living here but might look to move at some point.
