I never used to care that people parked in the street however now that I walk my dog everyday I realize how difficult it is especially when you have to walk a couple of blocks to get to the greenbelt.  There are the drivers who are not very courteous and don't move over or are in a hell of a hurry that is is sometimes a bit scary to go around the car.  When there is more than one in a row or they make no attempt to park close to the curb it is even more frustrating.  There is on block near me where the people feel they even have to park multiple cars together facing the wrong way.  I guess is is so they can get out of the car away from the street?  I have no idea.  4951

I hate that crap, it's so inconsiderate! I've got a neighbor who constantly has a trailer bed attached to his extended cab pickup truck.  He leaves it on the curb with the trailer hanging a couple of feet in front of our driveway.  Can't get to the mailbox without being a contortionist. Some days I wanna just slam into it and knock it the hell out of the way.  (But then I just go in the house and have a cocktail!) 4951

@MellieMac: did you ask them to move it?

Half the time, I can
barely get to my parent's house.  If there was another car going the
opposite direction, I would be in trouble. The other day, someone was blocking their driveway completely. They had to go around and find out which neighbor owned the car. 4951

DH did, and they did for a few days....now it's back in the same spot. I hate being a whiny neighbor, but I guess we're gonna have to be. 4951

I've never understood storing $1000 worth of crap in the garage and letting $100,000 worth of vehicles sit outside in the weather or get dinged on the street.

Makes the neighborhood look crappy too. 4951

Some of these homes were built with single lane drive ways. It's not illegal to park a tagged car on the street. 4951

@thegoodwife: Eye of the beholder.  Go look at a street without cars parked all over the place, big difference.

I park on the street. It's the only way I can get my mail. When I don't park in the street, everyone's lawn company parks their trucks and trailers there, blocking access to my mailbox and so I don't get my mail delivered.

Maybe if people did their own yard work😉

I agree it doesn't look great but I am one of the ones with a long, narrow driveway...  And 4 drivers in the household....including two young adults who go out at night and return in the AM.  It does make it really difficult.  With my work hours I am always the first to leave in the morning and when I have to move 3 vehicles there is HELL to pay.  So when my boys are in town, I am the one who uses the driveway....  They are away at college most of the time though.    I do feel bad if that helps... lol 4951
