What does she like?-If she likes sailing Kemah you can usually find a 3-4 hour sailing trip online for a few bucks. -From Galveston you can take the Dolphin tours, Ferry ride without car and bring bread, Watch the big boats.-Museums, Houston has a lot of good museums.-The "Mexican" flea markets around airline are always a big hits for visitors. The food court at the Sunny flea market has really good food and you will think you are in Mexico.-Along the same as above but Asian is the Hong Kong Market. The supermarket is the highlight. Grab a bite at one of the local Asian places while there.-Or right now you can spend a few hours touring the flooded areas. That is what we are getting ready to do.Many other options just need to know what she likes.JJ 4951

Personally, I like hitting up the shops on Montrose & they usually have an outdoor market on weekends. Then go to La Tapitia for an early dinner, or there's an awesome bakery for iced coffee & snacks.  4951

There's an antique car and war vehicle museum opening up down the street from my store. Looks pretty cool so far. 4951

@Retired_Engineer: NO, NO, NO!!!!

Already mentioned but the Galleria, the Museum District, Space Center Houston, Kemah Boardwalk, or shopping in West U (lots of unique stores and great restaurants).

I disagree about the flea markets as a sightseeing distinction for visitors. Traders Village would be a better option. 4951

@donnatella: What don't you like about them? They seem to be about 70%-30% for my visitors. About 70% seem to really like it about 30% are bored.
