Hubby and I usually get groceries early in the morning or I got on weekdays when it is slower.  For some stupid reason, we decided to go today at 1130/12.I was turning onto the cereal aisle, and a lady was blocking the whole lane with her cart.  I started by saying "excuse me".  She ignored me twice.  I then said "Would you please move your cart." She said when she was done then walked off.  She left her freakin cart in the middle of the aisle. Some people.  No need to type what I did next Emoticon 4951

I would shove her cart out of the way with my cart - it's been known to happen! Ramming speed... 4951

We had one do that to us too. My husband very politely asked her to move her cart, which she did which with an exasperated sigh. We walked past, my husband thanked her very nicely, and continued on her way. When we got 3/4 of the way down the aisle from her, she started shouting "You didn't have to be so rude, you could have just waited!" My husband turned back and said, "You're blocking the whole aisle, and I'm rude because I asked you to move? " shook his head in disgust. She then started shouting "I'll pray for you" We both rolled our eyes and left, because at that point, I was about to make the evening news.. and yet again, at Kroger.. What is wrong with these people?  4951

I usually bump into the aisle offender then politely say "oops, I sure didn't see you there". I might get a dirty look but at least they usually move. 4951

@vinbert:
They pull that "I'll pray for you" because they know they have lost and are out of good come backs." It gets misused so much that it's really now an insult. I usually come back with "yeah and while you're at it, pray The Lord zaps the rude out of you, too." 4951

Yep, ask politely, if no reaction, push the cart out of the way. 4951

I'm very patient but don't start dicking with me.  I will have no problem telling you what I think. When someone says I'll pray for you, my reply is to say thanks & laugh. I don't mean laugh out loud it's the look you give them, I guess a smirk. 4951

@vinbert: I had another lady tell me that at Kroger today....needless to say, it was not a fun shopping experience.  DH was cracking up laughing at me though.

@Retired_Engineer:

That's what I do. Grocery shopping is war! And these people that feel they are better than the rest of us need to hire someone to do their shopping 4951

@roguehippee Were you at HEB? For some reason there's a concentration of ******s at that particular location. I go there because I like their produce selection, but I've been very close to flipping someone's cart a few times.  4951

@OhHappyPets: Nope-Kroger at 59 and Northpark.  Funny though, the lady that said she would pray for me was in the produce section.

Had we not just spent hours on our feet shopping for patio furniture ( I was still a little sticker shocked from Chair King omg!) I might have just whooped that ***. Don't talk to my husband that way, especially since he is always so polite to ladies. Not that he's rude to men, but women, he just goes all sweet. I made a comment about how it wasn't really her cart, it was her fat ***, but he kinda dragged me on.. I can see it now.. her and I tilting at each other down the aisle of Kroger.. lol 4951

@roguehippee LOL I guess bananas get people extra emotional! I'm usually at the store at odd hours, but I've started listening to podcasts while I'm shopping. It takes my focus away from people's rudeness. At the Kroger at NP & 59 I saw a lady almost get run over in the parking lot right in front of the store. She was in a cross walk area. The car honked at her & pulled up, rolled down the window to yell at her, & tore off. If I'd have been a bit closer I would have taken a pic of their license plate. Seems southern hospitality is a thing of the past here in the bubble.  4951
