@lola: That's an interesting photo. Many of us thought that the new Hwy 59 bridges over the San Jacinto River were higher than the old bridges. In that picture, you can see a "new" bridge on the left (southbound) had already been built (actually widened) and the old bridge in the middle (northbound). The north sides are flooded about equally. The northbound bridge was eventually widened like the southbound that is shown here. The old truss bridge was later taken out of service and a new bridge built just to the right (east). Just goes to show that our memories are not always as good as we think.
