Just went to Humble; Returning I drove through Lakewood Cove by Hamblen Road. One of their lanes is starting to flood. Many who have houses in that subdivision probably do not realize how quick and high that area can rise(remember Allison). That back way into Kingwood might not be driveable later tonight (just guessing). Will drive down there this afternoon to give update so those of you returning home will have an idea of what is happening there. 4951

I had no idea the flooding was so close, but I have to admit, I'm not familiar with that part of the area. I don't venture around past Northpark or past Oakhurst. 4951

@buddyboy:

Off Hamblen road; in very low lying area that floods every time the San Jac rises. 4951

All the homes in Lakewood Cove are above the hill so if lakewood Cove floods we all are in a whole lot of trouble! 4951

Is it raining over there right now, wht would it flood now if it's not raining? I come home everyday off Hamblin Rd and I don't see any signs of homes being near under water. 4951

Think its just part of the road where it dips just before/after Hamblen depending on your direction.  Other ways in and out, just more inconvenient.  No homes threatened. 4951

@bubbleyes72

It might rise a little due to run offs from all the rain north of here, and sometimes Hamblen does end up with some minor flooding but I doubt any homes north of Hamblen need to worry. 4951

@bubbleyes72: The San Jac when sufficiently high covers Hamblen.  Lakewood cove homes won't flood, but access will be cut off from the Hamblen road side.  You could still get into the neighborhood coming in from Forest Cove from the north.

Again, this is what we were warning of yesterday when accused of over scaring people.. Once they start releasing water north of us we are gonna flood in our low areas. I dont care what schools say, I dont care if its raining or not ...it takes about 4 to 24 hours depending how fast they are releasing it to reach us. We dont gotta get 1 more rain drop and its going to continue to rise as long as conroe and liberty are releasing. It doesnt matter if they are connected to san jac or not...its gotta go someplace and we are some place. Lol 4951

It has been that way, over only one side of the road, since early morning so the fact that it hasn't gotten worse is good. 4951
