Peaches comes around this morning, for her third "waste time" walk around the office, and telling us, over and over, about her woes.  Never fails to include the fact that she now has to look for another job.  A big part of her problems now is the fact that she won't sit her *** down and do her work.  She is constantly up and running around, looking busy but accomplishing NOTHING.  I guess we can expect more of the same until she is finally out of here. 4951

@donnatella: Too bad she does not funnel all that extra energy into her job search. Maybe she has free food as a requirement on her resume and everyone is turning her down?

I actually knew this was coming as far as her whining, but there's nothing we can do about it.  We didn't make the decision to cut her, or to have it drag out.  We have said for a while if she didn't start improving her behavior COULD jeopardize her job, and no one really wants that, but it could have and should have been an opportunity for self reflection and self improvement. Then again, I can see why over the last several years, why she strayed contract (while wanting permanent, full-time) in al of the different areas and business segments she has worked, and why she had bounced around everywhere.  Listening to her talk, everyone everywhere loved her.  I guess not. 4951

She seems to think so.  Pushing your boundaries to test the rules is one thing, but blatantly doing your own thing and expecting to keep a job is just ten different kinds of crazy. 4951

No one knows.  I swear, she has made the rounds, just drifting and milling around, 20 times today.  I really think she has a screw loose or something.  She can't focus at all and just doesn't seem to be all there. 4951

@donnatella:  I HATED when managers didn't deal with their problems.  Preferring instead to just shuffle them off to someone else.  I was the youngest manager at one location.  I had three goofs reassigned to me.  I sat each down individually and clearly explained the position they were in and what needed to change.  I then documented their performance and gave them feedback.  One improved, the other two didn't and were given the option of resigning or being fired.  They both chose to resign.  By resigning, if a potential employer called us about them, they were only told that "the person left for personal reasons and of their own accord".  Anyone fired, our comment was simply "that they were dismissed for performance issues".

Maybe she is wanting a farewell party.

And cake of course.

@Stealth83:   And extra food that she can pack up, hoard, and take home for later.  Another person asked about a party and was told not for a layoff.  But we can get together and to a private lunch on our own.  Again, not interested in celebrating someone's bad performance, especially when many times, it impacted me and my job.

@donnatella:

If you have to go to the lunch, just think of it as a little celebration that soon you will be free of herEmoticon 4951
