So ive lived in my 2 bed/2bath home nearly ten years and never had an issue wigh breakers tripping until about 3 months ago?! My master and 2nd bed trip on a regular basis, mine has tripped 3 times TODAY! Not doing anything different, no new appliences, dont understand!!!!! Its becoming more than aggravating! Typically ill run my tv/cable box, ceiling fan, and i have a window ac (yes im always hot....sorry hubby). I may plug in a phone charger but typically turn something off when i do! I dont get it! I go outside, hit the reset and flip breaker to on position and im good to go, for the moment at least. Sometimes, on the other hand , a week can pass and nothing? Same situation in daughters room except usually if my room has issues hers does not and vice versa.
Help, i dont want to spend money i dont have for someone to tell me an obvious/ridiculous fix that the geniuses of k.com can provide Emoticon
Pretty please & thank you! 4951

Sorry, but it is not a good sign if the main/master breaker is tripping.  Individual breakers can wear over time and are pretty easy an inexpensive to replace.  If the master is tripping it can mean there is an overload.  I know from experience breaker boxes are expensive (I paid $875) in my old house to have a new box put in.  On the other hand it may be something simple like loose wiring.  Preferred Electrical is a family owned business I use here in KW.  Joe will come out and give you a free look see/estimate as to what the problem might be.  I found there were cheaper than others and will work with you.  Nothing to mess around with as it can cause an electrical fire. 4951

It may be that you just need to replace the breakers. I've heard that they get weak over the years, especially of they are on a high load circuit.

I thank you all for dropping the name though because I found one leg out at my home in Atascocita Saturday . I'm going over tomorrow to check it out and may have to have repairs done.

I'll give the electrician a call in the morning. I'll look in the business section but does anyone know their number? 4951

Agree, inspect the breakers that are tripping. If that's not the problem I'd get a pro. I had this problem in my old home and it was from years of I believe garden lizard crap or something else that was getting through a crack in the back wall. I never had critters in the house but low and behold, when we remolded that room I found the problem. All the wires to that room were corroded from crap. I had an electrician look at it before and he could not figure it out. sealed up the hole and replaced all the wiring to that section. No issues after that.   4951

Well crapola! I know i aaid ive been here ten years but it was brand new...aka had it built...when i purchased.
Oh well, bite the bullet i shall...thanks for the recommendation. Finding a new company for issues youre not familiar with can be scary. You get taken advantage of and talked into needless spending Emoticon so last ?; do you typically replace the entire box or can you just have a specific switch serviced/ replaced?
Thanks again, im calling tomorrow! Anyone that has used him personally pm me and when they ask how i heard of them ill do a little name dropity drop....referrals/ referral discounts are my favorite! Also having a small family business myself i kmow hoe important word of mouth is when its positive feedback of course!

@tatertot58:
Thanks for the number.
All the water distracted me from the electrical issues until just now.
Seems like everything is happening so fast and not much of it is good!
Thanks again. 4951

If you want to get a price comparison, T-Force Electric is awesome, David is the owner and he's been taking care of my in laws for years. We just used him and he does a great job. He's very fair and reasonable. 281-450-6755. 4951

We had constant issues with the breakers at our old house, but the breaker box was installed on the outside wall in the back of the house. Houston sun and humidity takes it's toll.Have replaced the AC breaker here (also outside by the AC unit) but the main box is inside and hasn't given us any problems. 4951
