@allymansfield:

NE lake conroe, there is an electric plant there and their water cooling lake has possible dam issues, officials say if their dam fails (maybe there's already a breach, haven't heard news this a.m.) those residents have about 14 minutes until everything around will be flooded, causing possible issues for the rest of lake conroe and as you know water flows downhill so it could affect lake Houston as well. 4951

Actually few miles north of conroe, west of Willis, kind of like porter isnt kingwood, this little area may not actually be conroe. Have to check the map. 4951

@Burnsway:

Well technically lake conroe is north west of the town of conroe and I said ne lake conroe, I have co-workers that live in that flood zone on the lake on the "finger" right next to this reservoir which is west of Willis. 4951

Trying to pull up a good map. Reading that yesterday they warned lake conroe hills subdivision to watch for possible mandatory evacuation. Thats where I lived 5 years before coming back to kingwood. The home we were in was right there so I assume its more willis and Montgomery than conroe . 4951

EVACUATION ORDERED FOR 400 MONTGOMERY COUNTY HOUSEHOLDS AROUND DAM

The Mandatory Evacuation Area in the Lake Lewis area (Montgomery County)

Updated 1 hr 46 mins ago
CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- An evacuation is ordered for 400 households in Montgomery County around the Louis Creek Reservoir dam due to rising waters due to rain, authorities say.

The evacuation was ordered at 6am.

Evacuations previously were voluntarily, but now, the order is issued for people to leave the area.

A Red Cross shelter is now open at the Lone Star Community Center in Montgomery at 2500 Lone Star Parkway.

Authorities say the dam remains intact, and there are no breaches. Additionally, they say workers continue to make progress to mitigate the soil slides along the levee.

The customer information center is open today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the North Montgomery County Community Center at 600 Gerald St. in Willis.

Residents can speak to an Entergy representative about the situation. For general information, or assistance please call the United Way 211 call center or 713-957-4357, and choose the "General Information" option.

Just looked , we were in 126E on the evac map. If the dam breaks those two bodies of water will meet and that whole area will totally go under in 10 minutes. Glad I'm not there now, we almost bought the first house we were in. 4951
