Baby Finches that is... In our hanging Jade Plant. Mama & Papa keep feeding them, and  yelling as they fly away. 4951

Apparently there was a nest in my Italian Cypress. It fell out and 4 baby newborn birds were laying there dead. I was too late to save them so I scooped them up with a shovel, put them back in their nest and buried them all together. At least all these brothers and sisters can be together now in their nest in one grave. 4951

Got Jenny wrens with a nest I the drawer of my outdoor sink.  Been fun watching the momma bring pine needles in.  This is the 3rd year they have had a nest there.  Sorry, no pics..it is too far back in and I don't want to scare them. 4951

This is just one lil' nest of new beauties that we have...

P.S. - When they have their lil' mouths open like this, and squeaking for their mama, and for some grub, I like to tell my hubbs that they're sayin', "Feed me, Seymour!"                                        (Like from Little Shop Of Horrors!)  4951

Protect the area from neighboring cats!!

@Annie: The dog took care of the neighboring cats years ago! They don't come near our yard anymore or the rabbits. You'll see both on the front lawn but never in the back yard.Last year the Finches made the nest in the jade plant. So it's time for the 1st baby to fly out of the plant & it's falls to the ground and the dog noticed, next thing you know she was on it, but she ended up kicking it across the patio, not purposely her big feet got there before her. So we both jump up and I get the dog and my hubs gets the bird & puts it back in the plant. I don't know what she would have done if she got the baby bird.
