With the likelihood for new grads to be out and about Sunday night, please encourage them to find a place to be for the night, as this can be the worst time to be driving.  The potential for serious roadway flooding will be in place and we don't want anyone stranded. From the Houston/Galveston NWS office, "A significant heavy rain event is expected to begin early Sunday through Tuesday. Widespread rainfall during this period should range from 3 to 4 inches with isolated totals of 4 to 8 inches. With the wet ground already in place this much rain will likely cause significant street flooding at times and rises on the already swollen mainstem rivers." 4951

Yeah, the Sun-Mon timeframe is going to bite.  There is the added potential for another wave of heavy precip moving out of the El Paso area to move into SE TX Mon into Tue.  This could bring a few more inches if this path holds. 4951

When is it going to quit?  I hope that July and August is not as dry as a popcorn fart with all the rain we are getting now.😁 4951

I don't mind the rain, it's the thunder/lightning that interferes with the plans! 4951

Driving back from the casino, Liberty and Crosby are full of water.  Not sure how much more some of these places can take.  Wish some of this rain would last until say July/August! 4951

I pray people are smart and stay off the water this weekend with boats. With all the flooding it will be choppy and dangerous. Safer to just BBQ at home 4951
