I am sitting here in front of Kingwood Meat Market and Westco donuts. I can't help but notice that the meat market is far, far more popular with men than women and that far more women are going into the donut store.

I should have started keeping track of women going to the donut store vs men going to the meat market, but I didn't. Hold on, there's another woman going into the donut store and now another one...

I don't know, a juicy grilled season chicken breast or savory steak would be more appealing than donuts.

Donuts weigh you down but unless you eat way too much of the grilled meat, protein in the morning gives much more energy and is more satisfying. 4951

I believe the meat market sells breakfast tacos. Those get the man vote over donuts. 4951

I like that meat market.  My husband did some work for him when it first opened and he paid us in meat!  It was awesome to walk in and get "free" stuff!  He gets nice suckling pigs for us too for our pig roasts. 4951

If I could, I'd go with kolaches.  Swiss cheese and ham were my favorite... used to get them at a place in the downtown tunnel. 4951

@Odin:  Kolaches are OK, but most have too much sweet bread and not enough meat/stuffing.Edited: I agree with the Swiss cheese and ham!

Why should men go into the donut shop? When they get home from the meat market their wives will have 2 dozen donuts sitting on the counter. Well maybe 2 dozen minus 2 or 3....:-) 4951
