I've never had a piece of furniture refinished professionally and am wondering where's the best place to go here in the Kingwood/Humble area. I have a nice antique that needs to be refinished and want to take it to a trustworthy, affordable place. Any suggestions? 4951

I like to 'redo' furniture myself and do many diy projects, but this particular piece, if done right, could be worth thousands of dollars should I decide to sell it. 4951
Reeves is good, think they may be under new ownership though, think it's called something else now.Not cheap but worth it not ruining something you really like. Â 4951
I don't know the condition of the piece you're working on but Restore Products work very well for DIYers. I did an old bedroom set that sat in my mother-laws vacated home for years and it came out pretty good. This picture (from the internet) shown below is a good example of how well it worked for me 4951

@uneasyrider. That looks beautiful! My piece is not all that bad off. I need to replace some trim and a decal. Still not that confident that I can be successful. I think I'll take my piece to Reeves. Seems they have a good reputation! 4951
I've stained a lot of furniture, use to do it as a teen for an antique shop. It's a lot of work and you have to have the right tools and grits of sand paper. It would behoove you to pay someone if you really like it. I compare it to cutting hair. You need practice, you just don't start working on Beyonce's mop if you know what I mean. 4951
