Just wanted to see if anyone had a story similar to mine. We have had the worst luck. First our home construction took a week longer then anticipated. Then the mortgage company forgot to order an appraisal. Then the builder docs got lost in cyber space somewhere and the mortgage company didn't catch this until a few days before closing needles to say causing us to get pushed back. Then our file got stuck in underwriting for 3 days longer then expected. It also got stuck in quality control for 4 days and it's only suppose to be 1 day. Then of all the mortgages in the country they choose to audit our which takes another 3 days. Then our broker needed an updated purchase agreement with the new date. Finally our documents get sent to title and as they are preparing the HUD the title company catches fire. Have I pretty much covered all my bases saying everything that could go wrong has went wrong or is there something else. I was thinking tomorrow our pens might run out of ink and as we prick our finger to sign with blood the documents explode. We are now almost a month late closing. 4951

You can get into a mobile manufactured home in a week. My brother had the worst credit and they approved him.. The catch was he had to put it in a certain mobile home park. 4951

I already have a brand new home built for me in Tavola, just waiting to close. Credit and income were not issues, we must have just had bad luck. 4951

@friday1:

Is this a serious comment? She never said credit was her issue. Just delays on their end.

I feel ya Nicole. We had lots of bad luck closing on our house too. Although your sounds worse. We were fortunate that the house was vacant and the owner was willing to do a buyer's lease so that we could move in on our wedding day as planned. We lived in the house for 2 months before we closed, after starting over from scratch with a different mortgage company. 4951

@Nicole4647:  Unfortunately, that sounds about normal.  Our first house was a pre-owned and there were glitches, and our second was a new build and there were glitches during the whole process. 4951

At least I don't feel so alone. My MIL says she has never herd of anyone closing late before. I'm just floored about the fact that as the title company was printing out MY documents the computer room that just so happen to have the printer in it caught fire. I can picture it now. We get the door code, punch it in and the whole house blows sky high. So when yall see a flying house you can say "oh, Nicole must have closed on her house"...lol. 4951

@friday1: And then you'll be insanely upside down in something that depreciates in value instead of appreciating like a house, plus paying insanely high interest rates equaling higher payments, and with the horrid construction on mobile homes, facing mounting repair bills in the very near future.  I hope they threw in a free life time supply of KY for him too, because he'll need it.

When we bought our home in 2011 the bank wired the money to the wrong title company!  When we got into closing the lady looked at me and said "you have no money, you can't sign anything".  I almost died, she didn't explain anything.  I must have turned white because the other lady from the title company jumped in and explained what happened.  Apparently their company is similar in name to another and this happens all the time (uumm change your name?!).  And the guy who was working on all our paperwork was a disaster.  I had to redo almost everything multiple times.  I finally called the mortgage company and requested another guy because he was so bad.  They felt really bad and ended up giving us a break on some stuff.  It all worked out in the end but I was so embarrassed about the money thing!  4951

Own a few homes.  Then when you want to move, just move from one to another.  4951
