Read this, thought it was cute:Â Lady was one of a long series of strays I picked up one year while living near Dallas. I already had two dogs and no room for more, so I was getting ready to find her a new home, like I'd done for many others. It was hard to do, because she's a real lovable dog, but I started preparing her, getting her weight up to normal, getting her shots up to date, and so on.Then one day I forgot to close the bathroom door. I had just assumed the seated position when Lady came bounding in and tried to jump in my lap.She knocked me clean off the toilet.I fell between the toilet and wall so I couldn't easily sit up. While I was trying, with my pants around my ankles, to maneuver my way into a sitting position, Lady decided to walk up on me and start licking my face. The bad part was I hadn't actually, uh, finished my business. I hadn't even started. So there I was, flat on my back, trapped between the wall and the toilet, desperately needing to make poo, with a rottweiler standing on my chest and licking my face with great slobbery licks. It was such a ridiculous situation that I had to laugh. She seemed to think we were having a great time, because the more I laughed and struggled, the more she licked, which made me laugh even harder. That's when I knew I couldn't let her go.I know it's not the most dignified love story, but dog people will understand what happened to my heart that day on the bathroom floor. Lady told me she wanted to stay. And you couldn't have said 'no' either. 4951
