@okiedokie... the "talk" should have started at the age of 2...you know the one where you tell your child that you carried him or her below your heart for 9 months . Then the talks keep coming and you never really have to have a major sex talk at any age because you have always had an open line of talk about sex since they were 2. And they can & will age you everything that comes to mind & you can answer truthfully & if you don't know go to the library & look it up together . It brings a bond of trust that will never be broken & an open line for your child to ask anything knowing you will always be able to find the answer for him or her. 4951

@WJo: She knows she was in my tummy, we talk about it a lot, quite frankly.  Every year on her birthday, I tell the story of how she was born.  It's the how she got into my stomach that she has never asked. When she does, I will gladly take a shot(or two) and tell her.

I should do that to my son...every year on his birthday make him listen to me tell the story of his birth..that would be the Greatest thing ever. Throw in the conception story and it gets even better. 4951

My son kept asking, very early, so we started with age appropriate books, then as he asked more, we answered honestly. He knew the Basics of Birds and the Bees 101 by age 6 or so. There are obvious advanced concepts that his Dad answered for him when he asked later on, after his first "exciting" dream. 4951
