She saw him on social media being a pass and went to find him.I think our children and some adults need a lesson on what peaceful protesting really is.   4951

@djchavez0921: As a father I commend her and I think dad would have been able to do a more convincing job. I speak from experience. You either resort to "the laying on of hands" or posting bail money or identifying remains.

I love this.  And, you'll notice, he never once swings or slaps at her or mouths off.  You can tell he's mortified, but he respects her.  We need more moms like that!!!! 4951

If it was my son I would have punched him in the throat, good for her. Too many good black mothers are being blamed for the poor judgment their kids are doing while not in there presence. Most of these kids are just following the crowd. Last night I heard the news conference the mayor gave, she set the curfew for 9 pm, I was like what?! I would have set it for 7! 4951

@bubbleyes72:

I heard on the news it was 10. I agree with the 7 though.

Sad that people, black, white, etc don't have the sense of self esteem to not go with the mob mentality.

I don't know...People are saying "way to go mom", "good mom, we need more like her" etc.  but I am not so sure.  Obviously she failed him somewhere along the way if he grew up thinking it was okay to act like this.  If she would have raised him right to begin with he wouldn't be out acting like a degenerate thug.  Just saying, kids with good parents don't generally act like this.  I wouldn't be so quick to congratulate her. 4951

@allymansfield: He was following the crowd.  Kids do that, no matter how well they are raised.  You can tell by his reaction to her that he knew mama was boss.  If you don't think a "good" teenager will step out of line when they are with their friends, you are very naive.

It's time to bring old school parenting back without fear of arrest.  If more parents were not afraid of kicking their kids butts when warranted some of the problems we have with our young people would not be happening.  Spare me all the child abuse arguments because clearly there is a difference between abuse and discipline.  What she did is discipline in my opinion.  Also spare me the psychobabble about possibly hurting his wittle feelings.  Better his feelings be hurt than several other negative consequences that could have come about.  Go MOM! 4951

@ilovemy6:  Even children raised in a good home by good parents are susceptible to peer pressure or just doing crazy ****....especially teenagers.   We don't know these people or their history, but I give them the benefit of the doubt.  Maybe this was the first time he did something really stupid and she taught him that it was not acceptable.  Either way, I applaud her actions!  Hopefully, he learned another lesson that day.
