Can anyone recommend a person or company that specializes in Kingwood area rental homes.  We are looking to move out of our apartment at the end of July.  4951

You are going to get the best deal looking for someone who is renting it out themselves. Going through a realtor you will pay a premium. I rented my home when I was out of town  myself for a very fair price and I think others do as well. The realtors charge the owners a lot of money for basically nothing from my experience. Look for for rent by owner. If you have strong credit and proof of employment you would be good to go. I also setup my payments through sending me a picture of the front of the check. Too easy.    4951

Yel.  LOL!    We are trying to save up $ and our rent will be going up.  We can get a rental home for at least $400-$600 less than our rent will be. Absolutely hate moving but not going to pay more than we are for an apartment. I still appreciate all of you helping me through that screaming neighbor issue.  4951

I actually lost money on my rental. Sounds bad, but for tax purposes, it actually worked out better. Go figure.  4951

@StartingOver: The rent for a 3 bedroom in kingwood is at about 14-1500/mo. I rented 2 different homes before my family picked up this one for me to rent (thanks, mom) and it's hard to find one that lets you have pets. I sweet talked the owners of the rental homes into letting me have my dogs. I'm thinking you have a dog, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I live in Sherwood Trails and will send you a pic of 4 rent signs of I see any in my neighborhood or my travels. @BooBear has a house for rent by owner on her street. Nice one story. Boo, send her the info!

My apt rent is $1725 a month.  Expected to go up $100-$200 a month.  I know I can easily find a house for rent for about $1300-$1500 per month.  I love it here but absolutely refuse to pay more.  4951

Starting over , yes you are right rent houses are getting 1300- 1500 mth. Drive by foliage green there is one for 1350. It's not mine but I saw it the other day. Rentals go quickly. I own some and they rent usually within 3 days. Mine are rented until end of 2016. Just act quick if you find one. There is one across hidden hollow elementary on the corner of Rock Springs. I own neither house but they look nice on outside. I have a realtor and she rents out mine if someone moves out. I pay her the security deposit which equals one mth of rent. Good luck! There are some out there right now. You can look on HAR for the rentals or drive around. The one on foliage is by owner I think and the one on rock springs is by a real estate company if I remember correctly. 4951

@BooBear: If the house number is 406 I would suggest that you stay away from it. We rented the house, and had issues with the lady who owned the house.

@topcat:

Not sure if this is true or not, but I was told apartment rates are reflected by the housing market (supply & demand) based on the area they're located within. If they know homes rent for a certain amount they base their pricing on that... I know there are reasons why people rent, but to do it for a long period of time makes no sense. What you pay in rental you could own your own home... But at times with the maintenance on my place I wish I was in an apartment. 4951
