That happens a lot in KW I've noticed. I guess the wide medians confuse the blue hairs from time to time.  4951

Personally, I believe it's those who thought they were to good to have to learn to drive in the first place.

There seems to more of those kind now than there users to be. They also tend to readily blame others for their short comings.

And, oh yes, they don't seem to get better as time passes.

I wonder why.

I witnessed a young man in a white Lexus hit the curb going 45+mph who overcorrected his steering to avoid hitting a light pole who crashed into a late model white SUV a couple of weekends ago and it was not the blue hairs fault.  Maybe everyone should stop texting/talking on cells and pay attention to the road.  His act almost killed them all.  The white SUV went up in the air and rolled toward the trees on NorthPark and his nice white Lexus came short of hitting the trees on the right side of the road.  Bad driving has nothing to do with what color your hair is....anyone is a potential threat to the safety of others if they do not focus on the road.  Texting and talking on cell phones while driving is extremely dangerous to innocent victims (men, women, blue hairs, children and babies! 4951

And maybe parents should not teach their kids to drive. Leave it to the professionals. 4951

@PLBurr: OHHHH OK!   So that's the reason.   Some people no matter what age should not be on the road driving........  I believe it's a losing battle with getting people to put down whatever they are doing and JUST pay attention......... But that's me!

10 years ago, when I first moved to Kingwood I drove the wrong way down both north park and Kingwood drive. I also did it when crossing northpark from the westbound lane into my village. The medians DID confuse me but after a week or so I got it. Oh, I also pulled into the driveway of a home a block away from my house. At the time, all these houses looked the same to me!

That guy must be new in town 4951

When I first moved here I thought it looked the same. Had to read street signs otherwise I just wasn't sure where I was.  But after a bit I got use to it.I almost killed myself making a left off of Kingwood dr. onto 494 south. I had a green light in the left turn lane, but not an arrow - yep turned  in front of someone  coming straight from the hwy.  I really thought I had the a green light to go.  But I made it to Molly's alive to meet my husband! 4951

One time, I was on a stretch of interstate with one other car.  i was in the left lane and he was in the middle lane.  He kept up with my speed and stayed alongside me. As we exited a gentle curve, I noticed something about a mile in front of us.  As we got closer, I realized that it was a stalled car.  The person in it got out and ran to the shoulder.  It was in the middle lane, so I looked over at the car next to me.  He was looking straight ahead, so I figured that he saw the stalled car. I sped up a bit so he could move into the lanes on his left or right.  As we got close, he stayed in the middle lane.  I thought about slowing down and trying to get his attention, but then I realized that could distract him from what was in front of him.  When I realized that he still didn't see the stalled car, I hit the brakes.  He plowed into the stalled car without touching his brakes.  I drove close to the wrecked cars and turned facing oncoming traffic. I flashed my headlights at any oncoming cars until the cops arrived.Sometimes, when people are driving on the interstates, they go into a mindless state.  This guy never saw the car he hit.  His mind was obviously not on his driving.  I never found out how badly the guy was hurt but both cars were totalled and squashed together to about one car-length.  i doubt that he survived. At least the driver of the car that stalled was smart enough to get out of her car and run to the shoulder.  She was uninjured. 4951

A few years back we were coming up 59 in the Humble area, it was dark out my husband swerved fast & hard. There was 4 of us in the car - I was in the back seat with one of my friends and the other one was in the front passenger seat, we all let out a yell. There was a stalled car in the middle lane with no lights on. Thank God my husband was driving, I don't know if I would have reacted so fast. 4951

I am for parent taught drivers ed.  My daughter is taking the class online and it is a very long and detailed program.  She has to take phone calls for voice recognition to verify that she is the one completing the work.  The paperwork for her on the road practice is very detailed as well.  She is getting a better driving school than I did in high school.  4951
