How messed up is this administration? Well one hand they are going against all sane advice and killing themselves to make a deal with Iran. On the other we are sending warships to intercept Iranian ships sending arms and other supplies to the Houthi rebels.... Only in Obama's America can we be trying to be a friend to a terrorist state and dispatch warships to intercept arms headed to arm terrorists from the same terrorist state. ... No wonder our foreign policy is so screwed up.... 4951

One issue has nothing to do with the other.  And once again, in regards to the proposed nuclear deal there are 5 other countries involved in the negotiations.  So I suppose they're all insane too. 4951

One issue has everything to do with the other. And yes the other 5 nations are insane as well. You don't make deals with the devil.  Iran cannot and should not be trusted. The fact they are sending arms to a terror organization should be enough in itself to show they cannot be trusted. What will prevent them from sending nuclear devices in the future? Nothing, anyone that believes that Iran does not, and will not make a nuclear weapon is either naive or just plain stupid. 4951

The issue is not whether anyone believes Iran is or is not the devil.  The issue is trying to convince them that obtaining a nuclear weapon will bring certain war.  In lieu of that we along with the other nations involved are using a carrot and stick approach.  If they stop seeking said weapons we (other nations included) will ease their economic burden.  If that doesn't work as I said another Middle Eastern war is almost certain at some point.  No one wants that as I think the vast majority of Americans are war weary. 4951

The Iran deal is insane.  It does not matter what other or how many other countries are involved.  It is insane.  For everyone EXCEPT freaking Iran. And anyone who can't see a vast issue with this, really has no need commenting on foreign policy.

@Fallon: We are just ordinary citizens offering an opinion on the matter.  To suggest that anyone that might view the issue differently than you, and thus should not be commenting on foreign policy is patently unfair.  NONE OF US have top secret clearances in regards to this issue, NONE OF US have been invited to sit in on the negotiations, and NONE OF US have first hand knowledge of said negotiations.  All of us are relying on public sources of information and yes our biases to come to certain conclusions.  As such the only thing we as citizens can do is hope our elected leaders, whom have far more access to information than we do make the right decisions on our behalf.

The vast majority in the US do not trust O or his administration on foreign policy.

@Fallon: All do respect I don't know if you can definitively say that.  There's a segment of our population that simply doesn't like the man and thus wouldn't trust him in any decisions he makes foreign or domestic.  However they may not speak for the whole.  After all the fact of the matter is the President was elected twice.

@AtascaGuy: I don't think I have apologized for anyone.  Just having an intellectual discussion and hoping to bring some levity to it.

Not talking about just the smart peopleEmoticon  lolI am talking about national polls.  O is sucking wind of foreign policy.  Both parties think this.  I don't know of anyone more Conservative than I am, I am to the right of Rush.  But at the same time I don't  know of anyone more hopeful for what O was going to do than I was either.  I really thought he would lift people up.  I thought he could bring about a new tone in DC.  He has been a massive disappointment.  Just objectively looking at what he has done.

@Fallon: I understand your sentiment.  But might I suggest it's going to be an uphill climb for any president to bring a new tone to DC.  The politics are so partisan and so entrenched it would take a person with the wisdom of Solomon to navigate.  There once was a time when moderates on both sides could build a bridge to common ground.  Now to be called a moderate is akin to political suicide.God help whomever next sits in the Oval Office chair.
