How do you stop a dog from "revenge" peeing? My daughter's dog makes it a point to go pee on my son's chair.... They can put the dog in her room during the day, no peeing... Come home, let the dog outside to do his business... He still comes back to my son's room for a spritz or two....
@caroline7327: If a dog is doing this then the dog should NEVER be left to its own devices. This is what I'd do with any new dog that comes into my house. First off each dog has its own crate and that is where the dog is unless directly under my supervision or outside. Now directly under my supervision is on leash attached to me. As I move from room to room and chore to chore the dog is right beside me. There is off leash time and play time but the dog is always within reach. Depending on the dog and my trust in it- after a couple of weeks- it will get some unsupervised time-5-10 minutes. Then we progress until I am completely convinced to dog is reliable. However the dogs are always crated when I leave the house. Is it THE biggest Pain in the ***???? Yep- you bet. Do any of my dogs mark or have accidents in the house ??? Nope.
I take that back- TJ doesn't have a crate- having proved his reliability when he was a pup- and he had an accident last year when he had a reaction to a medicine. And I do anticipate problems as the cancer takes over so I am prepared to deal with that. But for me no healthly puppy or dog should be going in the house. Guess it's just my thing
