I was stuck in it. I thought maybe there was a wreck. The cops were directing traffic and not letting our side go at all, (going West on KWD). Then finally a large group of people carrying signs and flags came down the sidewalks. There were little kids and adults crossing that big intersection.  I was trying to remember if there was a holiday I didn't know about. Some were carrying what appeared to be the Israeli flag but there was also another flag with red, white and blue horizontal stripes that I didn't recognize. I don't get holding up all that traffic for a march of whatever nature. If it is a bonafide parade or event then publicize it so people can avoid that area. I saw a couple of near wrecks because the different policeman were getting their signals crossed when directing. It seems they could have a gathering someplace that didn't tie police and their police cars up for that amount of time. Another tip. If you are protesting or have some cause you want to celebrate at least make signs that people can read. I don't think anyone knew what the protest or whatever the point of this march was all about. 4951
Well, now I feel like a dolt. My neighbor said it was the annual march of remembrance from Christ the King Church to commemorate and remember the Holocaust. Certainly a good cause and not a protest as I thought. But I do still believe crossing that busy intersection is not a great idea. I live life slowly so I wasn't in a hurry but I think it would have been nicer to know what the cause was all about. Maybe my bad, but I never saw any publicity regarding it. Of course, I may have missed it. 4951
