I absolutely need to buy some work clothes. I HATE clothes shopping, I HATE the malls. I really do need clothes. I plan on driving all the way up to the Woodlands to take on this venture because it's the only mall in all of Houston that I can stomach. So, what stores in that mall carry good casual work clothes? I'm trying to minimize my store stops and mall time. I wear a medium in most clothes. Suggestions please. 4951

Sorry, can't help on the clothes front, but I did want to add that I also hate malls....with a passion.  I find that the easiest way for me to go clothes shopping is go to the outlet mall on 290 (or down on 45).  I like not having to walk through all the department stores and only go in to smaller stores, and I like the selection.  I go once a year, and time it so that I can buy my daughters school clothes at the same time.  It's a drive but well worth it once a year for me. When I need anything else during the year I go to Kohl's 4951

@donnatella:

They do have nice clothes but they are very expensive. I'm looking to buy several outfits. It would cost me $1500+ at Chicos.

I like dresses. I think 3-4 dresses. 2 slacks, 2 skirts, about 6 blouses. All kind of interchangeable so I have several different outfits. 4951

Outlet malls are the worst kind of hell no's. Everything is a weird size so you have to try on everything, even if it's the same brand and same size. Kohls isnt so bad if it was better organized. Seriously you guys have no ideas how much I hate clothes shopping. I want it easy, quick, and reasonably priced....and this is why I really need clothes because I've let this hate for it go to the point of have nothing decent in my closet. 4951

@GoldenGirl: JCP and Steinmart are great places as well.  Macy's and Dillard's also have good business and business casual departments

God, I hate malls.  But if you're going, I like The Limited a lot.  Their pants are great.  About every other year, Express has good stuff.  Sometimes I walk in and feel about 20 years too old to be there.  Other times, they have really good, simple separates for work, even if the music is too loud and the mannequins look like streetwalkers.  (I haven't been in this year, so I'm not sure where we are on that schedule.)  Ann Taylor Loft is sort of the opposite of Express.  I like their stuff about every other year, and the rest of the time, I feel about 20 years to YOUNG to be there.  And again, I don't know where we stand on that schedule, either.  But their skirts and pants are really good.And I can't make their skirts or pants fit me to save my life, and I hate the uber-preppy store and snooty salespeople, but the no-iron shirts from Brooks Brothers are absolutely to die for.  They really and truly DO look crisp right out of the dryer, and they stay that way all day.  They're kind of pricey, but totally worth it, and if you go to their website, they usually have some of them on clearance or on a 2/$98 deal or something.  And you can skip the mall.For dresses?  Dillards.  Best selection.  Especially the one in the Woodlands - it's huge.(For reference, I'm 37 and I wear business casual clothing every single day.) 4951

@Francita: Why not just go to Loft? No Humble driving, no malls. Uber cute stuff, and not expensive.

Our dress code is business casual.  I usually get the Lee relaxed fit slacks in black navy and tan and the Chaps Brand No Iron blouses at Kohl's.  Last trip I got three pair of slacks, 3 blouses and a sweater for right at $200.   I hate shopping for clothes. 4951

@FrancitaTJ Maxx, dude, if you're going to get out and about...  They usually have really good brand name clothing options, at decent, affordable prices...And my other suggestion is Nordstrom....  There's a brand new Nordstrom that opened up in The Woodlands Mall, but I simply prefer to do my shopping while chillin' on the couch...  They offer FREE Shipping, as well as FREE Returns....  And their level of Customer Service is bar-none, simply exceptional....  4951

I am. I didn't acquire the shopping gene, so I do have a defect. Although, I do like shopping at home improvement stores. I've spent thousands in the last year on tools and home improvement shopping. I'm a catch! 4951
