anyone remember when gas was 25 cents a gallon ?Bread 10 cents a loaf ?milk came in glass bottles for 39 cents ?for 25 cents you could go to the theatre watch a movie , get a coke & a bag of pop-corn .my dad purchased an 18 room house for $22,000. it sat on 5 acres , you can't do that today .remember when you  could buy a new car for $1,200. ?those were the "GOOD OLD DAYS " .
@WJo:
I remember lower prices than that!
But I also remember my first official job paid less than $0.80 an hour! Taking into consideration that starting salaries now are about 20 times that amount, costs haven't gone up much.
My father raised nine of us kids on $40 a week. But we didn't live in a new built home with all new furniture, drive a new sports car, go on two or three vacations every year, buy BMW's fir our 16th birthdays (we ride a usef bicycle), and we didn't support a series multi levels of political groups that raised our taxes every year!
So go figure... 4951
