I have an appt there tomorrow for the pup and am hoping for good reviews! I'm not sure who we're seeing, though, as I forgot to ask.

She's still hacking up a lung and some "productive" stuff half the time. She is still eating and drinking water, too, which is a good sign. The only issues I could see this being is: fungal / bacteria infection or a kennel cough, heartworms, or congestive heart failure (though I doubt it's the latter, as she's not struggling to breathe all day).  I hope we can get her relief and I hope this won't break the bank. Sigh.

On that financial issue, if it does end up being a lot, do you know if the practice offers a payment plan? Again, I forgot to ask. Too much going on all around right now, in general, to keep my mind straight! 4951

Wasn't crazy about the way the vet treated my very elderly dog. I never went back. 4951

I used to go to Northpark.  They priced themselves out of my business among other reasons for no longer going there.  I started using Dr McCann in Summerwood.  I have found she is more reasonable in her prices and it is well worth the 8 to 10 mile drive.

Thanks for all of the feedback. As a new patient, I found it a bit difficult to get an appt. within a resonable amount of time! I'll have to see how tomorrow's appt. transpires and go from there. 4951

@ctl74:

I don't have any experience with them, but if you don't like them, loop 494 is great! They saw my cat same day when he broke his leg and we were new patients.

@ctl74 I use Lonestar & really like them! Dr Bryant is our vet, but I've also had dealings with Dr Lee (I think) & she seems very skilled. Dr. Bryant has saved my dogs life before & I trust him totally. His front desk staff used to be pretty bad, but I believe it's mostly improved in the last year. I have my older pup on the insurance plan, which is $30 a month, includes any office visits, yearly vaccinations, a $ credit towards any procedures (I think around $300), then 20% off meds & food. It's been a God send & I'd like to have my boxer on it also! 4951

hoping for good reviews

@ctl74: I love Dr. Bryant at Lonestar Vet.   That is who I take my doggie to. He is very thorough.  His office staff explains the services and prices before tests.  If you have questions they always answer them.  There is another doctor there, I believe her name is Dr. Lee and we have only seen her once when Dr. Bryant had an emergency surgery he had to do.  Their website is lvhcares.com.  They have well care plans that include free office visits and certain vaccines and discounts on certain items.  I have no experience with other vets in the area as far as prices and care.

Personally, not a fan.  He wanted to operate on my golden but I got a second opinion and ended up getting referred to gulf coast for rehab.  Much cheaper and easier on my golden.   4951

I thought the vet was ok, but I found they pushed a ton of medicine for my dog. We didn't end up going back. 4951

Dr Bryant has been wonderful. He saved Sasha's life when she went in to a seizure (through no fault of theirs, she had just walked in the door). When we brought her back, he just about dang near cried when he saw her up and moving. The Well Care plan has been awesome, and they call to check on her every week. I don't think I could possibly be any happier. It seems he cares more about the animals then the money. I can also tell you that the vet in Huffman was excellent as well, we just changed because Sasha does not do vehicles well, and LoneStar was closer. You can also drop them off for a bath and nail clipping, for a 75 pound Husky, it cost me under $25.  4951
