So, I literally have felt compelled to share my observations of the staff at J.P.K.'s (Johnny Pizza's Kitchen) from this past Good Friday....  So here goes...  The hubbs and I arrived around 12:15 or so, to get our Pizza Buffet grub on, and great minds must think alike, 'cuz J.P.K's was straight packed-daddy....  They were mad poppin'!  And I don't know who was scheduled off that day, or whom possibly just decided to pull a no-show, but they only had 3 dudes workin'....                                                                                                             And these three dudes were straight killin' it!  I kid you not....We never heard, or observed, any of them ever complain, fuss, get uptight, frown, or act flustered....  One dude was workin' the front, and I might add that this young man was quite outgoing, friendly, and smiled consistently thru the cruising wave of hungry pizza patrons....  I also heard him tell everyone, us included, "Thanks for comin' in to Johnny's"...and "Happy Easter"....                                 A second dude was behind the counter in the back, and was steadily comin' out with fresh pizzas, and consistently makin' sure that everyone was doin' good....  And then the third dude (all the hubbs and I noticed was three guys) was busy busy, bustin' his as$, bussin' tables, and bringing out freshly washed plates and silverware.....     Anywho, the hubbs and I were very pleasantly impressed by all three, and cannot praise those particular  young men enough...  But here's what really just made my day...   There was an older gentleman waiting on his to-go order, all by himself, and honestly looked somewhat lonely, and when the crowd at the register died down, the young man workin' the front, came around, noticed, and sat by the older dude, and just started up a conversation with him...  And I kid you all not, that young man had the older gentleman in smiles, and full on laughter...  Then, we noticed that when he fetched, and handed over his order, he very proudly shook the old dude's hand, and so, seeing that elderly man leave so happy, and witnessing for myself how it all went down, especially amidst such a hectic rush, well, it just made me even that much more impressed with this crew.... 4951

That's a really fantastic testament to a great staff... especially in the midst of CHAOS!!! Kuddos to Johnny's and his staff!!! Lots of other eateries in the area should take a "page from their book!!" It's particularly heartwarming when the younger generation takes time to acknowledge the older generation. This kid's parents are obviously doing something totally right!!  Emoticon 4951

I love me some Johnnys. We've done the buffet and ordered off the menu- both good but the one we ordered off the menu was slightly better because it had all our fav ingredients. The cheesy bread pizza slices are good! Every once in a while- I stop there for lunch on my way back from riding 4951

Hats off to them for running a first class operation. We've been there several times and a couple times with a group of about 50 from church and the food and service are always top notch. 4951

....Now,  let me tell you dudes about the other straight AMAZE-BALLS occurrence that happened while we were pizza buffett-in it at J.P.K.'s this past Good Friday.....                                             The hubbs and I ended up sitting at the table right next to the arcade game ( that has that arm things where you try to pick up a toy) and so I asked my hubbs, "Bub, are you gonna try and win me a prize?"  To which he replied, "No, Bub...  I'm not wasting money on that...  It's rigged...        No one ever wins anything on those machines..."Well, this young fella, prolly second or third grade age, super cute kiddo, sportin' a Kansas City football jersey, came over, dropped in his two quarters, gave it a try, but didn't get anything...       He looked my way, and gave me the shoulder shrug, to which I mentioned, "It's cool, little dude...  You'll get it next time..."A few minutes later he returned, slowly put in his fifty cents, looked over at me, in which I had to say, "Eye of the tiger, dude..  You've got this"....  And he actually ended up scoring a green football!  I kid you not...  I don't who was more excited, me, or him!                                                     I very happily noted, "Right on, dude...  Right on..." Then, after showing off his victory football off to his dad, he came back to give it one more go, and ended up snaggin' a yellow bouncey ball....  I kid you all not...  I was so delighted that I could not help but start to clap, and immediately say, "I am so proud of you...  Right on...  Way to go!"        My hubbs said he didn't know who was smilin' bigger, me, or him!Anywho, I just wanted to share the Good Friday happy vibes that was resonating at J.P.K's...  .

@herron1345, I had never tried that place until my daughter came home with fundraiser cards for Johnny's. We did dinner because we could get 30% off, and the next week we did the buy one get one free buffet. Hubby and I really liked the food, and all the workers were so pleasant. I think I'll buy the rest of the cards she has left, lol! 4951

Do they have the buffet only certain hours? I have been craving pizza for a while and would love to visit a pizza buffet (not CiCi's). 4951
