Bram Vickrey, age 31, plead guilty to intoxication manslaughter on Thursday.Vickrey was the driver responsible for a fatal crash resulting in the death of Linda Thurman on August 11th of 2013. Police say he ran a stop sign at the intersection of Woodlands Hills Drive and Tree Lane and crashed into a Honda being driven by Thurman. Vickrey was arrested at the scene after police determined he was intoxicated.  He had finished four years of probation the day prior for robbery of the Atascocita Walmart. Source:http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/humble/news/man-sentenced-to-years-for-fatal-kingwood-crash/article_bba7ecde-dd3c-568c-b5c2-4e9c3815aa18.html

@DVaz: I doubt it was for someone who was driving drunk on their way to Spec's celebrating just having gotten off parole.I passed through the intersection shortly after the police arrived.  He was headed south on Woodland Hills.  She pulled out from Tree Lane headed east.  He ran the stop sign at a high enough speed to drive her sedan sideways all the way into the trees in the median...I'd estimate 15 yards at least.  Speed limit on that street is 40.  In addition to running the stop sign he had to be going at least half again that fast.

@angiekaye: he had just finished his probation. probation means not in prison.

He had his second chance and ruined it. He needs to stay in prison forever. 18 years for taking a life is not even close to enough. 4951

So he was on his way to Spec's on a Sunday afternoon? Hmmm.... No you have no idea what you are talking about. He was actually one street away from home. The thing that is worse than people bashing someone who has taken responsibility for his actions (and will be paying for it as he should) is people who speak about it like they know what really happened. You're all trolls 4951

@angiekaye:

No, he wasn't. But it sure sounds good to you to speculate and not even read the article just to make it more dramatic than it already is. Get a life

Let me see, robbed a walmart, killed someone while drunk, also he failed to show up for his sentencing and was arrested. Had his bond forfeited. Yea, I'm sure he should be released on his own cognizance.  He is just misunderstood.@Abm410 4951

18 years is a very light sentence.

@Fallon: Way, Way leaner than Ms. Thurman's sentence I would say.
