I have jury duty today. I'll be sitting there waiting waiting waiting for a whole lot of nothing. So I'm gonna bother people on here. :-) 4951

Turn the brightness down on your cell to conserve power. 4951

I had it a few weeks ago at the Humble Courthouse. Went in at 9am and sat around until 10:30. Only to have the judge come out and say they have 36 cases for the day and need time to sort through them and everyone come back at 1pm. Went back at 1pm and stood in line for 30 minutes only to be told everything had been decided and I was dismissed. Was able to run some errands in between but other than that it was a complete waste of time. 4951

I have been called 4 times now and not once have I had my number called.  Every time I go and sit, then get dismissed late in the day. 4951

I just got seated down here at congress st. I haven't been to this new jury place. Its much nicer than the huge jury room we used to go to. 4951

Great. A woman sits down right behind me and starts coughing. Now I already have gross jury room germs. I'm slightly germaphobic in places like this. Don't cough on me or you'll get the stink eye! 4951

@Francita: did you take metro and get a free bus ride?

@buddyboy:

No. I don't like metro. I used to ride it from Kingwood into downtown until a certain incident. Last two buses for my parknride passed me by while i was standing there at the stop. I worked late that day and didn't get my regular times bus. I ended up getting stranded downtown and had to call my husband to drive all the way downtown to get me. Its been 15 years but I'll never forget it. I called metro the next day to complain and got no where. They basically called me a liar. Screw metro. 4951

I was on a panel for a civil case involving a breach of contract of an oil & gas company. 4 of us said we worked for o&g and none of us were picked! Wahoo! I decided to visit my favorite hole in the wall lunch place down here, Zydacos. I use to work downtown for 8 years but left here in 2001. The owners still remember me! Cool seeing them again. Now do I go in to work? Hmmm. 4951

I'm lucky enough to live in Montgomery County (county line goes through my backyard) so I don't have to go to Harris duty anymore. With Montgomery Country, you can actually log in online and it will assign you to an actual case. Instead of having to wait for your number to be called, you can go straight to your courtroom and skip the whole assembly room nonsense. Whole process takes maybe an hour, assuming you don't get picked.  4951

Going into work wasn't areal question that needed to be answered. Lol. I'm home and getting ready to do some work around here. Unfortunately I'll probably be working a 12 hour day at work tomorrow since I'm only in the office Tuesday and Wednesday this week. But I'll take it. 4951

I always hope I get picked, but no such luck so far. I find the whole process fascinating. I don't, however, like wasting most of my day just to be told I'm not needed. Can't they figure that crap out before we get there?! 4951
