Wow, that's messed up that now the investigation is saying the co-pilot locked out the pilot and took that German plane in to the mountain. That's just crazy
@Stealth83: No he didn't. The co pilot, german citizen Andreas Lubitz, was locked out of the cockpit. The pilot was locked IN the cockpit.

PARIS (AP) — The co-pilot of a Germanwings flight that slammed into an Alpine mountainside "intentionally" sent the plane into its doomed descent, a French prosecutor said Thursday.Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin said the commander left the cockpit, presumably to go to the lavatory, and then was unable to regain access. In the meantime, he said, co-pilot Andreas Lubitz manually and "intentionally" set the plane on the descent that drove it into the mountainside in the southern French Alps.It was the co-pilot's "intention to destroy this plane," Robin said. The information was pulled from the black box cockpit voice recorder, but Robin said the co-pilot did not say a word after the commanding pilot left the cockpit. 4951
@rundmv: No, it's just a fluid story. This is horrible.  But I hate to admit it, but I laughed when listening to the French report - while they are smartly saying the co pilot could have had a medical event - when the pilot was leaving, the French said it was probably to do a natural function - I just found that funny.  Just say he had to go pee LOL
@Stealth83: I am a big fan of thr Tour de France. When a rider has to stop to pee, they call it a "natural break."
I thought there was a way to over ride the locked door with a code or something? I guess now another crew member is going to have to stay in the cockpit if a pilot has to go to the bathroom. It was not a long flight so it is a little odd that the pilot didn't go to the bathroom before takeoff. So, if the pilot hadn't used the facilities, then the plane wouldn't have crashed?   What an awful scene that had to be for the passengers to witness. If this is true, it wasn't suicide. It was mass murder. 4951
