I am babysitting a couple of kids for a few days, and one of them pulled the water valve connection thing out of my wall behind my toilet. Now there is no water pressure to my toilet and I saw it dripping a little INSIDE the wall when I got my pregnant self down there with a flashlight and peeked into the hole where the valve pipe is hanging out....

Help meeee Emoticon I only have one toilet and three kids!

Could this be an easy fix or should I go ahead and suck it up and call a plumber Emoticon 4951

I once had an old man friend who got drunk and fell between the toilet and the wall.

We liked to never got his bare butt out of there.

My suggestion is to not get a pregnant lady in that predicament. Either call a plumber or get a friend to fix it for you.

Be careful. 4951

Only a little? Maybe I'm not understanding but if they pulled the actual pipe out of the wall it would be full on water pressure pouring out. That little pipe that sticks out of the wall behind a commode with an on/off valve screws into the pipe that runs behind the sheetrock. 4951

Call a plumber and be sure to show the bill to the kids parents.  Hopefully, they will do the right thing and at least offer to pay it, or at least split it with you.  Or, maybe call THEM and ask if THEY can recommend someone.  If not, just chalk it up to jerky behavior and be very busy the next time they need a sitter.

If you value the friendship, don't ask them to pay the bill, but do given them ample opportunity to offer, whether or not you accept.  Keeping it from them isn't honest either, but tell them casually, not in an accusing tone.  4951

@Francita:

Well, its been pulled to where the PVC part of the water/shut off valve in the wall is visible and it hanging a good inch or so out of the wall. But it isn't completely broken off.

Oh hell, I don't know how to explain it.

Inside the sheet rock where the pipe is still attached somewhere inside the abyss of my wall, there is water dripping a little from the PVC lookin pipe.

......forget it. I'm calling a plumber. Lol

@LuluLayla:

A plumber is probably a good idea. They will probably have to cut out the sheetrock to repair it. Sounds like a crack in the pvc. I assumed you had copper or galvanized steel. Pvc makes sense on why only a little water but the water pressure will make it bigger quickly. Darn kids! I'd ask the kids parents for reimbursement too. 4951

be sure to inform their parents what the little darlings did , of course they could say "you should have been watching them closer". How old are these kids any way & what are you doing watching other peoples kids & you expecting ? Don't you know you are suppose to be enjoying the experience of being pregnant ? Good Luck on locating a plumber on short notice , & do give the bill to the little darlings parents. 4951

@LuluLayla: call the plumber...it sounds like they broke the glue seal on a pvc joint. it might hold together but it will leak forever

@LuluLayla: I would never watch those kids again if I were you.  You never know what they'll get into next next time.

Hopefully you got somebody there, leaking inside the wall is not a good thing at all. 4951
