I am so tired of the chains! We have so very few real local restaurants, its ridiculous. It's my biggest gripe about Kingwood.People here just love their chick-fil-as and McCrappys. As I drove back to work from lunch I noticed the drive through lines at Wendy's, Burger King and McDonald's were super busy. I think that explains a lot!  4951

Mencius, Oriental Gardens, Pete's Burgers, J. Christopher's was but was sold to new owners I believe years ago, Bill's Cafe, Whatever opens in the spot where Ninfa's was. None last more than six months. Not sure about the Mexican restaurants except the crappy one in Forest Cove. Not sure if Union Kitchen is. Chelsea Deli has been owned by the same family for like 30 years. There are other Chelsea Deli location, but it's not a "chain" restaurant. 4951

Amedeos is owned by Tony and Leslie Raffa for nearly 30 years.  They also own Raffas in King's Harbor.  3 B's is a group of local families who own that.  Chimichurris is family owned. The Berry Bar, not technically a restaurant, is family owned also. 4951

There are a lot of quality family restaurants here. And even the chains are, for the most part, family owned franchises. 4951

@DVaz:  Rigo's opened in the old Ninfa's spot and had a booming business when I was last there.  Did something happen and have they closed now as well? 4951

@KellyG: I was referring to non-chain restaurants. I know there are some good options, and I like the choices at the Harbor, but for the rest of Kingwood, I don't think there are that many. @donatella I was at Rigo's on Saturday and they were open.

@notfromhere, today was early release for elementary schools.  That is why the drive thru lines were nuts.  Most of us bring home our kids and a lot of others.  Pizza is backed up to an hour wait, if order, so you have to suck it up and do the fast foodEmoticonI would love for Kingwood to have more mom and pop places, that were good to eat at.   That is the biggest thing I miss about LA.

@Fallon: Darn kiddos! They should keep them until 7pm! (just kidding... maybe)I ate tacos at Kingwood Meat Market. No line, delicious food, and quick service. And also mom and pop place!

@notfromhere: it explains a lot about so many cancers. Don't get me wrong I use to eat fast foods now I wish not so much......
