My birthday is coming up on Thursday, and I'm trying to decide which of these 3 restaurants to go for the big celebration. It will be me, hubby, and kids, ages 15 and 13. 1.  Cheesecake Factory in The Woodlands. Always been one of my fave restaurants, have been there probably at least 75-80 times over the years but now rarely go because of the distance.2.  Chimmichurri's in Kingwood. I've heard good things about this place but have never gone.3.  Taste of Texas in Houston. Again, overall good reviews and the type of restaurant I probably wouldn't get to very often.Your opinions, please? 4951

Went to Mark's american cuisine for my birthday. Took mom to spindletop. Probably take dad to taste of Texas. 4951

We are having a family birthday dinner at Taste of Texas this weekend.
We have gone there for several birthdays. It never disappoints. Sometimes it is crazy packed, but well worth the wait. 4951

Taste of Texas is a more upscale version of what Steak and Ale was in it's hay-day.  Sort of a darker, cozy cabin feel, beautifully decorated and split off into smaller dining rooms, with fireplaces, etc. The food is always fabulous, and their salad bar is a must try.
