I would like to know if others have had a bad experience with the waitstaff at Movie Tavern being very slow in returning change / credit cards.
 
I have had two bad experiences in recent months.
 
The first, the waiter was gone for what I consider much too long with my card - probably 30 minutes. I even left before the end of the movie to report potential foul play to my cc company with my card since it was out of my possession for so long.
 
The most recent experience involved cash. Our bill was $13 and change. I put a $20 in the folder and never received change back until I went to the waitress requesting my change.
 
Both incidents had the wait staff citing "so busy" type excuses.
 
I am curious if others have had similar experiences. I only want to go there now with a handful of $1 bills to avoid being taken advantage of. 4951

Oh yes, on both accounts, we complained to management but felt it fell on mostly deaf ears. 4951

The concept of the Movie Tavern is a great one, but crappy management allowing bad employee behavior turned me off several years ago. They seem too busy bickering and don't want to be there and it shows. The place is a greasy sticky mess and is just gross. I'd rather eat first them go to Showbiz. 4951

I went there a while back, and the bottom of my pint glass FELL OFF the rest of the glass...and I got soaked with beer, and it looked like I wet my pants. Emoticon
 
I still had to pay for my beer :/ and everyone (management/staff) was laughing when I was
pretty upset.
 
It's not my favorite place.. 4951

I don't ever go there anymore.  Not so much the staff themselves but I get easily distracted by them taking orders etc during the movie.  They do have the most comfortable seating in town though.   4951

The issue is that EVERYONE pays at the same time. The few registers they do have are backed up. If you make a point of paying early, as soon as you get your order, you won't have that issue. At the time I order, I tell them I want my bill when they bring my food/drinks. 4951

I've only been there a couple of times due to bad experiences.  One of the times our order didn't arrive until a few minutes before the movie was over even though we ordered before the movie started.  The concept is awesome but it's just not worth the hassle and headache to me. 4951

That place is a dump. My friend worked there for a short time. I wouldn't bother complaining to management. Have you ever seen the movie "Idiocracy"?  4951

The same thing with no change returning has happened more than once for me and a friend. She let it go the first time. We didn't the second and third time it was tried. We also complained to the manager. Guess he doesn't care. Too bad. I do like going there. We also will go with small bills so we don't have to wait on change or the credit card.
 
Last time i looked it seemed like they weren't getting most of the new movies. And I couldn't find their listing on the kdc movie section. 4951

we go there all the time, never really had a problem, but I don't go to released today movies, I wait a week or two before going, so I hardly ever get a completely full theater. 4951

We probably wait two or three weeks for a new release. The movies are rarely 1/2 full when we go.

And I am pretty sure they know it wouldn't be a good thing if that happened.30 min before returning your card?  Wow, I would call back on Monday and insist on speaking to a manager.  And I'd be sure they knew I would never go back again because of crap like that.  You can copy a lot of credit cards in 30 min.  And after seeing a special on cc fraud last night, I am looking at things differently.
