Question for everyone…If my wife is 19 weeks pregnant, is she 4 months or 5 months? She says that she is in her 5th month so she is 5 months pregnant. I say she is 4.75 weeks pregnant therefor 4 months pregnant. Who is right? 4951

For your safety do not argue with your pregnant wife. She can be as many months as she wants to be, and you say yes dearEmoticon

When your wife is pregnant, you are wrong and she is right. Adhering to this law will make the next 4.25 months of your life easier. 4951

Technically, pregnancy is 40 weeks = 10 months, not 9 months like everyone says, because pregnancy starts from the first day of your last cycle. At 19 weeks, she's in her 5th month. But, for the sake of your own safety, I agree with the previous ladies who recommended just agreeing with your wife. Emoticon   4951

@BooBear: Yeah, his part is done.  He should be putting the crib together, painting the nursery, or some other "honey-do" item and not arguing with a woman about what is going on in HER body. @ibertrand, do you have a death wish or something? You'll eventually learn. Emoticon 4951

@donnatella: No death wish...just like finding little things to get my wife's attention on something else.  More of distraction really.  From all of the comments and opinions...my wife is 5 months along.  Sure is fun to argue with her in a jovial way.

Right now, I am in my 39th year of life, but I am 38 years old. What century are we in? The 1900's was the 20th century. That always confuses me.

I would say she's 4 months, but the other posters are right that you shouldn't argue. Maybe she'll figure it out when she's in her 9th month, only 8 months pregnant, and isn't quite due yet. 4951

@IBertrand: The first month of pregnancy starts on day 1...for example, on day 5 she's considered to be in the "1st month," even though she hadn't been pregnant for a full month.Ex:0 - 30 days => 1st month30 - 60 days => 2nd month60 - 90 days => 3rd month90 - 120 days => 4th month120 - 150 days => 5th monthSo, 19 weeks => 133 days => 5th month----------------Re: # of Months...There are 30.42 days on average in a month (not 30)...so 280 days => 9.2 months...makes sense to me to say pregnancy is 9 months.
