Wife was driving down West Lake Houston last Friday and hit a big pothole which resulted in having to purchase a new tire. There were 2 to 3 other cars in the same parking lot with the same issue - one car had to replace 2 tires. Anyone else had this happen? Did Harris County refund the cost of the tires? We haven't been here but about 9 months. I know where we used to live that the city/county would own up and reimburse for tire damage caused by potholes. 4951
The pot holes on WLH have been there quite awhile. Â Could these people see them and slow down? Â Good luck trying to get the County to refund anything. Â I am pretty sure they think is is part of the "driving experience". Â Would be interesting to know if they do pay claims though 4951
I think it is Channel 2 that has spot to report those kind of pot holes, they have a Pot Hole team (or some such nonsense like that) that is suppose to be doing some good. 4951
You would have to go after the city of Houston, and the City of Houston is legally indemnified from paying for damages to cars caused by potholes. It would be more productive to drop a deuce on a box, gift wrap it, and send it to Ms. Parker.... 4951
When I first moved here 7 years ago they were pretty good about ripping out the slab and replacing it with new. Now it seems they try to butter if up with some asphalt and "see you next year"....stuff only lasts a couple months. 4951
I was driving downtown last week with my husband and our baby and we hit a pot hole. I thought the damn tire had fallen off! Scared the crap out of us and **** off the baby quite a bit. Ended up having to have the tire replaced because it bubbled. I am honestly surprised that the frame didn't get dented. We were only going about 30 mph, but you would have thought we were doing 100 the way it felt! 4951
