My son came home with squash from a field trip yesterday, so that's about it! We're having our backyard sodded, and mulched, next week so unless I decide to do some potted veggies, I doubt we'll have much of a garden this year.
That said, can you suggest any fruit bushes/trees that we can plant in our yard that won't have roots that will attack our pool? We have three big trees coming down (due to extensive roots), and we'd like to plant something else less invasive!
@ctl74: In ground or above pool? When I was a kid we had a large above ground. My mom use to bring us cantaloupe out there. I would take the rhines and throw them on the side of the pool. Few months later, huge patch of em, must have got about 15-20 lol! All the water splashing and the mild chlorine, really kept em healthy and stout. Not sure about in ground. Don't think I've ever seen anyone plant anything around them except in larger planters. Likely not a good idea.
