I eat mostly white rice mostly cause it's convent to just throw in a rice cooker.  I do like brown rice too.   4951

@foxymama:  I'm half Cajun and grew up eating tons of rice.  Diabetes put a damper on that, but I still love rice... just not as often and in smaller servings.

@IBertrand:
I was actually raised in the Houston Burbs but my parents are from Kaplan and Ville Platte Louisiana. My husband is from the Opelousas area too.
I met my husband while in college in Louisiana.

@foxymama: Honestly, you can just replace the rice for quinoa in most recipes.  I also like quinoa pasta.

@BooBear:  I showed her the message and she is interested!  My son was here and we were doing his income taxes and talking, so I didn't have my phone with me.

@BooBear:  My son got back around $260 and I had to pay $465.  I've adjusted my withholding to try to break even next tax season.

@BooBear:  Yeah, I've lost my two deductions and I haven't been able to itemize deductions since the house is paid off.  Even with all my medical costs last year, I still was better off with the standard deduction.Your son must have made a decent income last year.  Usually, if you don't make much (I forget the number), you get just about all of your taxes back.
