Why buy Fivebucks (Starbucks) at their location when you can buy their grounds and make it at home at a much cheaper price?

Why buy a Keurig? When you can buy a mr coffee for 15 bucks at Big Lots and it lasts longer. Whip cream and chocolate syrup are pretty cheap too.

Its this whole generation do things the hard expensive way. 4951

Only buy it when I have free gift cards from work...  I actually like it once in awhile, seems to taste better when someone else makes it. 4951

@jax:  Because I like the way they make it and I'm happy to pay someone else to do it.  Plus, I can't make my Grande Skinny Hazelnut Latte the same way at home.  I don't have one every day, but at least a couple times a week. Sorry @CBP210.  4951

@tatertot58:

It's a treat. I buy Starbucks 1-5 times a year.

At home I have the regular Mr coffee maker. But I buy whole coffee beans from all different places. Or even already ground but different coffees. I don't have a go to coffee. World Market and Whole Foods has a nice variety. 4951

Starbucks is not going to see a dime from me for a long time while that CEO is still in charge. 4951

Why go the store and buy seafood when you can go to the gulf and catch your own sheepheads. 4951

I think I've bought a Starbucks coffee twice.  Only because they were the only place around.  I ordered a "medium coffee".  They tried to teach me their propaganda language, but I just repeated "medium coffee" until they got the message.  I didn't tip. 4951

@CBP210: We should all have a big potluck and bring all of the food/drink items we disucss here on the forum.  If you show up without sheephead, it will be a tragedy.   4951

I buy Starbucks every day - that is my disposable income.  I don't go to movies - why pay for them when in a short while they are free?I don't eat out - why pay for someone else to cook for me?I don't go to concerts - why pay to listen to music from the radio? Seriously just because it isn't your cup of tea just means it isn't your cup of tea.

@Stealth83: Agreed.  Starbucks is just not my cup of tea!  Emoticon

Coffee. Jk.

I agree. We all have our frugal things and our frivolous things.

I have a Keurig because it was a gift. I never would have bought one. That said, it is convenient. But the K-cups do get expensive. I usually try to find sales and coupons for the ones I like. I think I need to get a refillable K-cup and a freedom clip to save a few extra bucks. 4951
