We watched St. Vincent last night.  I am not a fan of some of Bill Murray's early works, but he has turned into a good serious actor.  This was a good movie.  It's NOT a comedy although there are some funny moments.  At the beginning of the movie, you find that Vincent is a nasty, unlikable man.  He ends up babysitting his neighbor's kid.  Some of the scenarios happen unrealistically fast, but it is still a good movie.  Definitely worth a rental. 4951

You mean you didn't like his earlier works like Caddyshack?

@Francita: I loved Caddy Shack!  Couldn't stand Stripes, Meatballs, Scrogged, and a few others.  I liked Ghost Busters but didn't like Murray.  He was much better in Groundhog Day.  He was terrific in Monuments Men.  I also plan to watch his portrayal of FDR in Hyde Park on Hudson.

I like Scrogged and Strips, love Groundhog day. Hated Lost in Translation. I'll have to watch your recommendation though. 4951

I liked Bill Murray when he was first on Saturday Night Live, but he quickly wore thin on me.  He played the same goofy, over the top, bad actor bits.  Fortunately,  Caddyshack was a perfect fit for him.I haven't seen Lost in Translation. 4951

I've never been a huge fan of his but just like Clint Eastwood, he seems to be getting better with age.  Did anyone else see the HBO series 'Olive Kitteridge"?  I loved it and was sad to see it end.  I loved his character, even though it took backseat to Frances McDormand. 4951

@Retired_Engineer: I have been debating on getting this movie-might have to pick it when it's my turn.

@Francita:  Well, the movie does involve golf.  I guess the movie is so well-liked that the Golf Channel uses it to support the sport!
