I'm in crisis mode! The ski clothing I ordered for my children will not be coming in today like it was supposed to even though I ordered it in plenty of time. It was actually supposed to be here yesterday but now it looks like it won't get here in until after we leave for our trip. Where else can I buy ski clothes besides Academy, Sports Authority, Sun and Ski Sports? I know I could probably get the jackets and ski pants at the final destination. It will be much more costly but we'll do what needs to be done.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! 4951

Have you looked at Kingwoodyardsales.com? They had kids ski clothes listed when I looked on Monday. 4951

@monyhoney: can you buy them once you get to the city where you are going skiing? They might have better selection than houston stores.

know anybody affiliated with the military? They rent it on the bases or you can check it out for free.If you don't want to pay full price, places near the slopes that sell discount used equip and clothing. I know there was one in Salt Lake where I lived, fairly large place of decent used stuff. Otherwise, you would have to eat it or return it when it arrives... 4951

Thanks for all the suggestions. I forgot about REI. My problem is I am running out of time. I know we'll find something, the question is how bad is this going to hurt my wallet! The jackets I saw yesterday on clearance at Sun and Ski were $150. Last year the ski jackets I got were less than $50 each. I guess I should be thankful that I've saved money shopping wisely all these years and just suck it up! Too bad I didn't realize that we weren't going to get the gear on time and just forked over the money at Sun and Ski yesterday. 😞

Burlington Coat Factory was a waste of time. Nothing at Academy either.

On with the hunt! 4951

Right now I need a men's large ski jacket, men's small ski jacket, women's small ski jacket and men's large ski pants (all my kids are bigger than me!)

Anyone have anything we can borrow?!

I'm going to search the classifieds when I get back from picking up the kids from school.

Thanks again for all the suggestions. Come hell or high water, I will find a way! 4951

Where are you going. ? Most places rent everything you need for not really that much. Last year in Ruidosa we got a ski package that included rental of really everything. Pants or overalls gloves goggles ski boots board etc. all that was DS was his hat. 4951

Where are you going?  It is the end of the season for most places, local stores will have decent sales.  Ski gear, at least the good stuff, can be very pricey.  Lots of places will rent it.  Also try the local good wills and such at your final destination, lots of people in ski areas buy gear and then drop it at Good Will because they will never use it again.  I have never bought that way because my MIL worked at a big resort in Vermont so I had my own gear since we went up a lot, but I had a lot of friends who did it that way and got some really great stuff.  My husband would kill me if I lent out our stuff, sorry! 4951
