Last Sunday morning, we were struck by the thieves that were breaking into cars in the Fosters Mill neighborhood.  They did not find anything of interest in our car, but now our cat is missing.  I am hoping that he got trapped in someone's garage after the thieves left the door open.  His name is Finster, but he also answers to Finney.  He is a 12 year old neutered male gray striped tabby with a white face, paws and tip of his tail.He is a very social cat and I really hope that someone has found him.

Cars broken into? What part of Fosters Mill? I will keep an eye out for your cat. There is a young girl who is missing her little yorkie as well.  4951

I've seen the signs now......both for Finster and the yorkie.  Seems to me someone posted losing a Yorkie and then another finding one on classified. Pictures looked the same. Not hers? 4951

@XpatQN:

We live on Big Falls, behind the pond on the east side. At least two of our neighbors also had their cars broken into, although the theives were really just opening car doors that were not locked. One had nothing stolen, the other had a change purse and her prescription sunglasses stolen.

They went into our garage but did not take anything from the one car that was not locked (after emptying everything from the glove box and the center console). They did take one TaylorMade driver from my husband's golf bag, but did not take any other clubs nor anything else in the garage that we have noticed.

On the cars they got into, they left the car doors open, and they left our garage door (side door) open. I guess they were concerned about making noise. None of the cars that were locked had any signs of tampering.

No signs of our cat. I hate to even think about why someone would take him. 4951

Were the garage doors open? Or did they break into them. Was this at night or during the day. Wow, thieves are getting more brazen these days. Hope you find your cat @ckelleher0 4951

We live close to you. But my garage is in my yard. I'd hate to think what could happen if those kids entered my yard. They're kids I think or teens and they have gone through my husbands car before but took nothing. They're looking mostly for phones etc.

I can't imagine they'd hurt your cat on purpose. Hope he's found. 4951

They got an ice chest out of my truck last Sunday AM.  I was curious if they hit anybody else.  Guess this thread is proof that they did.  Seems like they were just doing snatch and grabs because they did not break my windows although I had nothing visible.  4951

Hope Fin comes home soon. Remember cats go blocks and dogs go miles when they are lost, usually. Hopefully Finn is not too far. 4951

@cgm10sne1:

Our garage is detached and has a side entry door that you can access by going through a gate. That door was not locked and that is how they entered the garage. It was some time after 1:30 am Sunday (3/1) morning. We have a time estimate because one of the neighbors who was hit did not get home until 1:30 am. 4951

Good idea on the door hangers.  I hope Fin is found. I know cats don't typically go far, but my friend's young cat wandered down to Breezy Point and she lives on Golden Pond. She saw her cat months later. It was an unspayed kitten when lost and was pregnant.  Had become a stray.  But prior, was strictly an inside cat that accidentally had been let out.   4951
