Why is their sorting so wrong and stupid?!  I searched for women's ski jackets and I get everything from jackets, to hats, to men's long johns!  I don't want to see anything but a woman's ski jacket in my search and I want to be able to search price plus shipping, lowest first and also prime.  Why can't they get their act together?!  Am I missing something here?  Anyone have suggestions? 4951

try using different search terms ir the terms in a different order. sometimes they do that to encourage peripheral sales...as long as you are looking for a jacket for yourself, they show related items for the rest of the family to suck you in like the crap at the register at the supermarket 4951

Sorry, I decided not to go work for them so I'm not helping them either.Ok, there is a way.  When you search, look for the categories on the left side and use those in addition or instead of your search criteria.I agree that their sorting sucks. 4951

I love Amazon - yesterday I ordered a  floormate cleaner, no shipping charge & for some reason they gave me a $70.00 discount, & it should be here tomorrow. At christmas I opened a prime account & I think that is where the & 70 discount came in. I used my reg. CC not prime.Any website will include other items that go with the ones you were looking for. 4951

I love Amazon too, but I agree their sorting stinks. I've searched for something on their site and couldn't find it then searched on Bing and got a result of the item on Amazon. 4951

If I have trouble finding something on Amazon, I do searches on Google.  If I find what I'm looking for, I then use more exact terminology in Amazon (like manufacturer, model number, or description). 4951

@ProblemAgain:
That's not logical, it's a solution but the logical thing wouldn't be for Amazon to force you to have to search somewhere else then possibly finding it cheaper.

First, type "ski jacket" into the search field at the top. Then make results by clothing, shoes, and accessories/women/prime

You can then narrow by color, size, price, our whatever.

The issue I think is that this is a marketplace. It is stored but also tons of other random sellers. Many are foreign and may not understand the wording to proper categorize.

I think it is worth out for the huge selection. 4951

@BooBear: RE shows logical thinking....amazon shows the results of corporate thinking...logic has nothing to do with corporate thinking

@BooBear:  It's rare, but it has happened.  I have also found items that I was looking for but Amazon didn't sell that specific item (also rare, but it happens).  Amazon covers most of my needs but when you get to sporting or firearms-related items, Amazon has limited choices.

@ProblemAgain: if I go on any department store website and search for woman's jeans, I'll get women's jeans...not kids jeans, not men's..they have paid the money to be first in Google, Bing whatever results...if they can know what you are searching for through the major search engines, they can do it for their website.

@Retired_Engineer: I always check the manufacturer website first before any retailer.

@BooBear:  That covers another frequent deficiency with Amazon.  Sometimes their "details" or "specs" for an item are not very detailed.  When I find an item on Amazon, I frequently open another browser tab or window so I can find more detailed specs for that item.
