If you live on Garden Hills lane or on Brook Shadow (near the little Brook Shadow park) and have a little yappy dog, please do us all a favor and take it in the house.I do not know exactly where this yapper lives. It is not one of my immediate neighbors' dog, and I do not want to be creepy walking around the neighborhood listening to pinpoint the location.  There would be a creeper alert on KDC if I did that. This dog starts barking at about 5:30 in the morning and barks on and off all day.  It must go in the house at different times, but it barks nonstop for a couple of hours at a time.Sorry for my rant. 4951

If you talk to your neighbors...maybe one of them knows where the dog lives. Then you can leave them a note or knock on their door. 4951

Little yappy dogs are as or even more annoying than big barkers.  I don't understand people that let their dog bark in the yard more than a couple times before shutting them up or bringing them back inside. 4951

@taramay: Agreed.  People have the right to live in relative peace and quiet.  You certainly can't eliminate all normal neighborhood noise (car doors, alarms, etc.) or expect to live in a silent bubble, but when a noise crosses the line of reasonable, people certainly have the right to speak up.  4951

@taramay: No, I think it is stupid for post a whiny thread about a dog barking during the day. Granted, 5:30 a.m. is a bit early, but she said it is mostly during the day.  You can't expect complete peace and quiet during the day.  Kids are outside playing, work crews are working, cars are driving by, and dogs are barking.  You live in a neighborhood in close proximity to other people. If it is far enough away that she is unable to pinpoint it, it can't be that overwhelmingly loud.  Turn on some music, get busy doing something to take your mind off of it.  And, if you really want absolute silence, move to several acres of land out in the country, but even that's not 100%. I have a couple very vocal owls on my property that like to talk to each other at all hours.  Maybe if I post a thread about it, they'll shut up.

I'd rather hear cool owls vs yappiness any day of the week. Lucky you @hotterthanyou  4951

Dogs will bark, but when it goes on for hours I think you have a right to complain. People who let their dog bark outside don't see it as a problem until somebody forces them to see it. Unfortunately the chances of them seeing it on here is pretty slim. 4951

@HotterThanYou: You sound like a real peach that is really uptight. Good for you and your owls! This dog barks starting at 5:30 in the morning and while it also barks during the day, it does bark at all hours of the night. I have asked a few neighbors and they agree that it is a nuisance, but they also do not know who the dog belongs to. I do not have an issue at all with common neighborhood noises (screaming kids, lawn crews, new home construction, cars driving by, kids playing in park, occasional dog barking,  etc).  This yapping has gone on for weeks.

Just a guess, but perhaps the owner of the yappy dog has revealed herself on this thread. 4951

@HotterThanYou:  There is a noise ordinance in the city of Houston.  www.nonoise.org/lawl ib/cities/houston.ht m   Idk how to post links, but I'm sure someone on here will fix it.  Could you imagine what neighborhoods would sound like if there was no ordinance?  It would be unbearable if everyone in KW left their dogs out all day!  You may not think one dog is a problem, but there are rules for a reason and this pet owner is not exempt from abiding by law.
